‘”We’ve had a few deployment meetings throughout the day,” Bills president Russ Brandon said before the team took off. “We broke down and basically geo-targeted our players and tried to find out what the biggest stress points were amongst our athletes and their families. It didn’t matter if you were the VP of Administration or if you were working in stadium operations. Anyone who could assist in the process to get our players to the facility, whether it was via automobile, whether it was via snowmobile, even if we could get guys to the side of the road to be picked up as they left their areas.’

‘It remains to be seen if the weather will cooperate.’

‘”We are pleased to be hosting the Bills and Jets for their game Monday night,” Lions president Tom Lewand said. “While our thoughts are with the people of the Buffalo area during this difficult time, our team at Ford Field will do everything we can to be good hosts to their team this weekend.”‘

‘Johnson has every intention attending his 336th consecutive game on Monday night, even though the “home” game against the New York Jets will be in Detroit because of heavy snow in the Buffalo area.’

‘Tickets to the game will be free. Bills and Lions season-ticket holders were offered free tickets Friday. Tickets will be available at large on Saturday.’

‘”We all know the situation. I think it is what it is. No one is going to feel sorry for us,” Marrone said. “We’ve got to go out there and play, and when we play we’ve got to go out there and compete and win. That’s what our job is. We understand that. As a coach, like I said before, I can’t stand up here and say hey, this is a disadvantage, this is this, this is that. It is what it is, and we’ve gotta go play.”‘

‘The only player that did not participate in the practice was defensive end Jarius Wynn, who missed the team’s last game with a knee injury. The Bills were not required by the league to issue an official injury report for their practice on Friday.’

‘”We’re going to prepare for that and do everything we can to get the facility ready, but it’s hard to predict what we face if the weather does warm up, if we do face flooding, how our facility handles it and see how we come through that over the next few days,” said Brandon. “We’ll continue to assess that, try to get through this weekend and then go from there. So we’re preparing to play at Ralph Wilson Stadium against the Browns, God willing, if the weather holds up for everybody.”‘

‘”We worked at it overnight to be in a position where we could get out this afternoon,” said team President Russ Brandon at the Buffalo airport shortly before the team’s departure. “It’s been a full organizational effort. We were just trying to make sure we could get our guys to the facility and over here and try to get on a plan to get some work done in Detroit.”‘

‘Did six feet of snow not immediately resonate with the NFL administration?’

‘I asked if every Bills players who would play Monday night would make it to Detroit sometime Friday, and Brandon said he didn’t think so. By Saturday, yes. But the Bills were planning to have as many players as they could hustle to Detroit by Friday afternoon, and hold a practice at the Lions facility after that. Then the players would meet back at their hotel Friday night.’
