‘The second quarter could not have started any worse for the Bills as Kyle Orton tried to fit a ball in to Scott Chandler over the middle that was intercepted by linebacker Jamie Collins. The Patriots moved swiftly down the field, aided by a pass interference penalty in the end zone, and ended their drive with a one yard pass to Tight End Tim Wright for the touchdown,’

Observations: Patriots 37 – Bills 22
‘It was a fear for the Bills as they entered the contest with the Patriots, and that fear was, in fact, a warranted feeling. Tight end Rob Gronkowski did whatever he wanted to on the field against the Bills and ended the afternoon with seven catches for 94 yards.’
Denied
‘Brady did what Brady has done too many times. 27/37 for 361 yards and 4 TD’s. That day makes it hard to imagine the Bills beating New England even without the earlier referred to bad calls by the refs. The Patriots scored on every second half possession until it was time to kneel it out at the end.’
It wasn’t Pegula Day, it was Groundhog Day for the Bills
‘While coverage or lack thereof was the main culprit, the lack of a pass rush is partly to blame. I thought the biggest edge the Bills would have would be their defensive line against a shaky Pats offensive line. By the way, that Pats line went into the game down one starter and lost another in the first half. Brady had a clean pocket too often and I think he wasn’t even hit until Manny Lawson got to him early second quarter.’
The Bills lose a chance to become relevant
‘It was supposed to be the game that made them 4-2 and made them relevant for the first time in 14 years. Instead, it was the game that showed us not much has changed.’
Immediate Reactions: New England Patriots 37, Buffalo Bills 22
‘But after watching CJ Spiller work his way through another uninspiring performance that reeked of “Let’s make it through the season healthy”, I can’t help but admit that I’m grasping at straws. The worst and least logical thoughts are running through my head: can Spiller get the Bills a pick back? Is there a quarterback on the market before next week’s trade deadline? Is anyone listening?’
Patriots Ruin Pegula’s Debut 37-22
‘It may be a new era with a new owner but until they can find a way to beat the Patriots it is the same old Bills. Until they can knock off the top dog in the division a changing of the guard is just a pipe dream. A disappointing end to a great week of celebrations off the field. The team has a bright future off the field with the Pegulas taking over but they have no magic wand to erase 14 years of losing after another deflating loss to the big bullies from Boston.’
Defense Disappoints In Second Half Collapse
‘Kyle Orton Had good stats going 24 of 38 for 299 yards and two touchdowns but his fumble and interception led to 10 Patriot points. Grade B: Not the main reason for the loss.’
Turnovers, penalties help Pats in 37-22 win over Bills
‘Penalties at inopportune times however, helped to extend New England drives, and Tom Brady took advantage. The Patriots scored on their first three second half possessions tallying a pair of touchdowns and a field goal to put themselves up 30-14 with eight minutes remaining. It proved to be too much to overcome.’
What they’re saying: Quotes from inside the Bills locker room
‘”Yeah, I made a bad decision with the football on the interception. Then, you know, a sack-fumble. And then trying to basically run out the clock at the end of the half and then an unfortunate fumble. We have to address those, I have to better with the football and play a mistake free game and not come away with any interceptions.”‘
