‘Speaking of pass blocking one-on-one, Seantrel Henderson is about to get the best test of his young career as the seventh-round rookie will line up across from esteemed Dolphins pass rusher Cameron Wake. Henderson was a seventh-round pick with first-round talent, but any rookie going up against Wake is going to be in for a tall task. Wake started the 2014 season with a two-sack game against New England. Now he’s coming for Henderson.’

Graham, Williams feel at home with Bills
‘”It’s been there since I was a kid,” Graham said. “I always had the dream of playing in the NFL. When I was 5, I was already a Bills fan because of my uncles, they were Bills fans and I was coming to the games. So to have that opportunity to put on that jersey and come out in that stadium and play, it’s going to be a special day.”‘
Rivers ruled out with groin injury
‘The return of linebacker Nigel Bradham should offset the loss of Rivers. Bradham, one of Buffalo’s most improved players from a year ago, missed Week 1 because of a suspension. Rookie Preston Brown is also expected to stay in the starting lineup with Rivers out.’
Former Bills owner Ralph Wilson honored
‘”This is a special day even though the torch is going to be passed on, we’re still here to celebrate Ralph Wilson,” said former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, who announced last week that he was cancer free after getting treatment for sinus cancer.’
Bills to play Sunday without LB Rivers
‘Cornerback Stephon Gilmore is expected to return to the lineup after missing last week’s game with a groin injury. He practiced all week and is listed as probable.’
Bills declare LB Rivers out vs. Dolphins
‘With Bradham due to return from a one-game suspension, he re-enters the starting lineup as the team’s weakside linebacker. The Bills will look to either rookie Preston Brown or Ty Powell to start in Rivers’ place at the strongside position. Brown started for the Bills at that spot in Week One.’
Manny Lawson is Mr. Reliable
‘”He’s a very versatile player,” said fellow end Jerry Hughes. “He can play numerous positions on the field. He’s a big, strong, tall fella. With those attributes right there I don’t see how he couldn’t help [any team]. Here he helps us out tremendously, just by having those attributes. Being able to get on the field, find a way to get to the ball, no matter who has it. It speaks huge for him. His football IQ is off the wall.”‘
Scouting Report: Bills vs. Dolphins
‘The Bills were effective on offense against Chicago last week because 60 percent of their first downs went for four yards or more. That will have to continue that Sunday so offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has more of the playbook to work with on second and third down. It’ll also keep Miami’s pass rush from pinning their ears back with fewer true passing situations.’
Something goes right for Bills fans
‘And now, pending approval from the NFL’s owners, they will own the Bills, ensuring that the franchise remains in the Buffalo area. The Pegulas were so determined to get the Bills and keep them in Western New York that their reported bid – a record $1.4 billion – was basically meant to blow any other potential ownership group out of the water. It appears they succeeded.’
Pegulas’ purchase of Bills gives fans plenty to ‘Shout!’ about
‘This has been a giddy run of late for Bills fans. First, Kelly announces he is cancer-free. Then, Buffalo upsets the Bears in the season opener. And now Terry and Kim Pegula ensure that the Bills will be staying put for a long, long time. It’s enough to make Bills fans “Shout!” for generations to come.’
Woods mindset is to be Bills’ No. 1 receiver
‘”You want to be the best. You don’t ever come into a situation saying, ‘I want to be the No. 2.’ As long as you push yourself to be your absolute best, that’s the right mindset,” Woods said. “I’m excited to have another explosive player who deserved that pick. But I’m going to challenge him. I’m going to challenge Mike Williams. I’m going to fight to be the No. 1 receiver in this room. That will elevate this offense and this whole team.”‘
Rookie Schmidt punted well past expectations
‘”I give him a lot of credit. He worked hard all week. I said it after the game: Our rookie punter against their rookie punter would be one of the keys,” Marrone said. “Field-position wise, we won that battle and he did his part. I was happy for him. Not knowing him that well or that long, I’m sure he’s like everyone else in this league that’s put a lot of time into becoming a good player.”‘
Excitement soaring for Bills’ home opener
‘But as for buying tickets on the secondary market, good luck.’
Bills fan spared jail term in sliding fall at stadium
‘Prosecutors and the victim’s attorney urged Pace to impose the maximum sentence of one year behind bars on charges of second-degree reckless endangerment and third-degree assault.’
