‘Virtually from the day of Wilson’s death, politicians have fallen over themselves to appear to be engaged in keeping the Bills in Buffalo. But not one of them has acknowledged, let alone examined, the underlying events that led our community to the dire strait of trying to retain something we felt was forever ours.’

‘I fully support the fact that girls should be fully compensated for their time. I think their uniforms should be paid for. Now it costs them $700, but to go back and try to get paid for something that you had no reasonable expectation of getting paid for? Everyone who signed up signed off on the fact that they were volunteers. That I find personally ridiculous.’

Right now we’re just going day to day and trying to get a little better every day and see how it goes. ‘Glenn’s teammates aren’t worried about him getting up to speed. The 2012 second-round pick has 29 starts under his belt, so kicking off the rust won’t be too hard. “It shouldn’t be,” Bills center Eric Wood said. “Cordy’s got rare genes for an offensive lineman.”‘

‘”I don’t worry about what’s being said out there,” Spiller said. “I just go to work every day trying to get better as a teammate; trying to get my craft ready to go. All that other stuff is just outside noise I don’t pay any attention to.”‘

‘There was no immediate word on when he would start practicing with the team.’

‘To start training camp the left tackle could not participate in practices because of an undisclosed illness, and as a result was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Illness list. Glenn first started missing time during the team’s mandatory minicamp in June, but it is not clear if his time missed during that week was directly linked to the ailment that kept him out of practice.’

‘The offensive tackle’s medical condition that landed him on the non-football illness list was never disclosed. He had been working on the side with the strength and conditioning staff all through camp going through a myriad of drills and other training to maintain his stamina and strength so when he returned to the practice field he wouldn’t be playing catch up.’

‘Fifth-round pick Cyril Richardson, who has been part of the right guard competition flipped to the left side with the first unit. As practice wore on, Antoine McClain, who has been the second team left guard throughout camp rotated in with the first unit. The two went back and forth between the first and second units the entire practice during 11-on-11 work.’

‘Hundreds of Clemson fans made the two hours trip to Charlotte to get a glimpse of their latest NFL superstar. Maybe the Tigers fans made Watkins feel a bit more at ease, or maybe it was the fact that last time Watkins was on that field, the crowd was bigger, the stakes were higher and he came through with five catches, 80 yards and a touchdown as a true freshman to help Clemson win the ACC Championship against Virginia Tech.’

‘For the second straight preseason game, Woods led the team in catches. On Friday, in a 20-18 win over the Panthers, Woods had a game-high eight targets. He has the trust of the quarterbacks, including starter EJ Manuel, who targeted Woods four times while the two were in the game, as much as any other receiver.’
