Hogan catching on with the Bills
‘”It’s a grind. It’s been a long road to end up where I am now,” Hogan said. “Each team and each practice squad I’ve been on have been really good learning experiences for me in the NFL. All that work I had to put in kind of prepared me for where I am right now.”‘
Graham’s boyhood dream becomes reality Saturday with Bills
‘”I was a big fan of Steve Tasker,” Graham said. “It’s rare because a lot of kids don’t choose special-teamers, but I just admired how hard he worked and the way he went about doing things.”‘
Wood-Johnson scrap enlivens practice
‘Before the fight could be broken up, tight end Scott Chandler had tackled Johnson to the ground. Chandler’s helmet also was torn off. An incensed Wood marched toward Johnson and repeatedly yelled, “I’ll —— kill you!”‘
Brooks steps in
‘For the second straight practice, backup quarterback Thad Lewis saw no meaningful action in team drills. Jeff Tuel took all of the second-team snaps. Lewis was the primary backup last year and started five games.’
Kelly got ëgreat news’ about cancer treatment in visit to N.Y. City hospital, doctor says
‘Kelly will now “undergo a series of tests to determine if any further treatment will be necessary,” Costantino said. “Should treatment be required, it would likely consist of surgery followed by a form of highly focused radiation referred to as gamma knife therapy. It is possible that no further treatment will be required, and the testing over the next week will define this issue.”‘
Offensive line remix for Buffalo Bills
‘”The continuity thing that people kind of harp on, the question is would you rather have continuity and not play as well, or would you rather have your best five out there and give them a shot and continuity will be created as we play. My philosophy has always been the best five.”‘
Jim Kelly will undergo further tests, but initial tests show no evidence of cancer
‘So for now, it’s good news for Kelly, but the family is still asking for prayers as they await the results of the rest of the tests.’
Buffalo Bills place linebacker Stevenson Sylvester on injured reserve
‘The injury creates more opportunity for players such as Preston Brown and Jimmy Gaines to get significant reps at weak-side linebacker. Bills coach Doug Marrone mentioned that the team is cross-training players for different positions late in camp. Brown, specifically, has been moving around to the different linebacker spots after spending most of his time at middle linebacker early in camp.’
Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy has Twitter account hacked, changes password from ‘Billsfan1234’
‘”Clearly, that wasn’t his doing and, the password has already been changed,” spokesperson Richard Azzpardi said. “It’s no longer Billsfan1234.”‘
Eric Wood at center of fight and 5 observations from Buffalo Bills training camp
‘During a goal-line drill, undrafted rookie defensive end Bryan Johnson stayed engaged in a block with center Eric Wood for a bit too long. Wood let him know it, and Johnson ripped Wood’s helmet off. Scott Chandler and Chris Williams were among those who got involved, but Wood and Johnson were at the center of it. Johnson hit Wood with two punches while Wood’s helmet was off and Johnson’s helmet was on.’
A face for hope in sports, Jim Kelly rewarded with superb news
‘”I want to live many years more,” he said then. “But if that’s not God’s plan, it means I’ll get to see Hunter sooner than expected.”‘
Jim Kelly’s doctor says quarterback has ‘no evidence’ of cancer
‘”If he gets to five years, then you could say we’re moving away from remission and no evidence of the disease to saying there’s a really high probability of cure,” Jacoub said. “We don’t use the word ‘cured’ now. We don’t use it in the next few years. He’s still under surveillance because it could recur again in the same region he was treated in.”‘
Jim Kelly’s follow-up exam shows no sign of cancer
‘Kelly’s wife Jill welcomed the news in a note posted on her Instagram account. “We have come away from our checkup visit in NYC encouraged and hopeful,” she wrote.’
