‘For Buffalo, starting quarterback EJ Manuel had several lapses during two series. He completed just 2 of 7 attempts for 19 yards, and nearly had a pass intercepted by linebacker Jacquian Williams inside the New York 10. Manuel never looked off his intended target Sammy Watkins and was fortunate to have Williams bat the ball down.’

‘Calling it his intention to “carry on Ralph Wilson’s legacy” in Buffalo, Bon Jovi said his group is committed to working with state and local officials and the business community to identify a new stadium site in the region.’

‘Bills second-year quarterback E.J. Manuel was just 2-of-7 for 19 yards, while highly touted rookie wide receiver Sammie Watkins was targeted three times, but did not have a reception.’

‘Quarterback Jeff Tuel guided the Bills on a 15-play, 80-yard drive that spanned the first two quarters and culminated in a 2-yard scoring pass to wide receiver Robert Woods (four catches, 49 yards).’

‘The Bills will be without cornerback Leodis McKelvin, cornerback Stephon Gilmore, tight end Tony Moeaki, tight end Scott Chandler and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin during Sunday’s contest.’

‘While some would prefer the Bills to limit their plans for Manuel in the team’s first preseason game of the year, but that doesn’t appear to be in the plans. According to ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio, Manuel is expected to play “well into” the first quarter, while New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is only expected to get a series or two.’

‘EJ Manuel didn’t have the fast start the Bills were hoping for. The second-year quarterback had three passes batted down in two possessions, including one throw that could have easily been picked off. Manuel has been knocked for “slow eyes” in the past — he needs to be quicker in his reads and delivery.’
