‘Lewis will make his fifth start this season and second straight following a 19-0 win over Miami. He has a 2-2 record and has thrown for three touchdowns and three interceptions since his promotion from the practice squad in early October.’

The injury is to the LCL in his left knee, but Marrone reiterated that as far as he knows it would not require a surgical procedure in the off-season.’

‘The NFL revealed its rosters for the 2014 Pro Bowl on Friday, including three members of the Bills. Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, and Jairus Byrd made the squad while Kiko Alonso and Marcell Dareus did not.’

‘The three defensive selections mark the first time since 2004 (Sam Adams, Nate Clements, Takeo Spikes) that a trio of Bills defenders have been selected to the league’s annual All-Star game.’

‘”Very fortunate just to be able to start one game in the NFL, but for it to be my fifth game with the Bills a great organization like this, I feel very fortunate and I’m excited about the challenge,” said Lewis. “It’s fun man. When you have a chance to play period, it’s fun no matter how it comes or how they dial it up or how they do things. If you just stay ready then you shouldn’t worry about how your opportunity presents itself.”

‘”It was a tough decision,” Marrone said. “EJ was practicing hard all week trying to come back and basically it goes back to the injury didn’t progress as well as I wanted it to. He wanted to go out there and play, but I need him to play at 110-percent for us to win. So he wasn’t going to be able to go out there and play at 110-percent. He could have played but not at the level that we need for us to win. Thad has done a nice job and he’s the backup quarterback so we’re putting him in there and he’ll be the starter Sunday.”‘
