‘It was the first shutout the Bills have pitched at home in seven years. And as you watched the total domination by Mike Pettine’s unit, you couldn’t help but wonder what might have been.’

Immediate reactions: Bills 19, Dolphins 0
‘New England on the road. Would you bet against the Bills picking up a win in New England when it devastates their draft stock and essentially won’t mean anything to the Patriots? I won’t. Buffalo 26-23.’
Bills Dominate Dolphins 19-0
‘The Bills showed continue to show resolve in the Doug Marrone era. Instead of running for the bus they showed up and played like they were the team with something to play for and not the Dolphins. It feels good to get their second straight win and to cause serious damage to Miami’s playoff hopes in the process.’
Total Domination By The Defense
‘Doug Marrone got his team a second straight win and they were ready to play. Would have liked to see him play Moeaki a bit more and really go for it on 4th and inches in the first half instead of trying to get them to jump offsides. Also settled for three instead of going for seven too much in the second half.’
Bills blank Dolphins for season sweep
‘The Bills completed the season sweep of the Dolphins for the first time since 2007.’
Bills sack attack reaching its peak
‘”We’ve built a foundation from the beginning, but we wanted to finish it,” Pettine said. “We wanted to have momentum going into next year. I think the guys really took that to heart, and said, ‘Hey, listen, if this is our playoff game.’ And again, you just looked at the view from the sideline, our guys just looked a step quicker than they did.”‘
Bills-Patriots game gets flexed
‘Sunday’s season finale against the New England Patriots has been flexed to a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, the NFL announced on Sunday night.’
Doug Marrone: ”It was an honor to be on that sideline”
‘For the players, I thought they went out there and we did a good job up front. It’s that same story, I said it before to the team, we protect the quarterback well at home, we run the ball, we’ve done some better things at home than we have on the road. I thought the offense went out and did that. They did exactly what they needed to do. I thought early on we hit a lot of third downs; we were about 50% at halftime, which was big. I think you have to be careful when you look at the second half there were things strategically that we wanted to do to get the clock going and not take as many chances.’
DC Mike Pettine: ”Every game has a story to it”
‘You look at each game week to week. Every game has a story to it. Again, that’ll be our lament of this year, that we ended up out of the playoffs when we felt like we were a playoff team.’
Fred Jackson: ”They were a team we needed to beat”
‘It’s huge for us. We’ve had some games that have definitely not gone our way that have been hard to swallow. You don’t want that to linger going into the offseason. We don’t have a shot getting into the playoffs but we still got games that we’ve got to play. We have to show up and play those games. For us to come out here and put together a performance like we did today, it’s something that we can definitely grow on. We’ve got a great opportunity next week to go on and win a game in New England, which I haven’t done since I’ve been here. Those are the little things that we’re looking for on focusing on our team. Yeah, Miami had a lot to play for coming in but so did we. We wanted to finish this season strong and they were a team we needed to beat.’
Blood ties have lifetime Bills backer rooting for Dolphins today
‘And today at Ralph Wilson Stadium, Jim and Sam will both attend a Bills home game for the first time. Sam will be starting at left guard for the Dolphins.’
Bills could play role of spoiler if they turn up heat on Fish
‘Bills 27, Dolphins 20.’
Dolphins came together in wake of Incognito incident
‘”Yeah, that was definitely a huge part of it,” Brenner said. “We said all this stuff going on is crazy, but we’re going to come together and improve, and not let these outside things affect us. I think the whole team had that mindset, not just the offensive linemen.”‘
Polar opposites: NFL experts engage in climate debate
‘”We always practiced outside as long as we could,” Polian said. “The players hated it, and Marv wanted it that way. I don’t know if that gave us a physiological advantage in any way, to tell you the truth. Physiologists told us that, in fact, it didn’t.”‘
