Game Scout: Jets at Bills
‘Geno Smith knows his limitations as a clear second option in the offense for the run-centric Jets. New York’s physicality on the line — offense and defense — dooms the Bills but EJ Manuel makes enough plays to keep the game tight.’
Already down one WR, Bills pessimistic on Johnson’s chances
‘With the bye week right around the corner, the Bills may be playing it safe with both of their top wide receivers. That will leave only T.J. Graham, Marquise Goodwin, Chris Hogan and Marcus Easley as the healthy receivers on the active roster. Marrone said the team talked about potentially calling up someone at that position, but ultimately declined to do so in favor of having three tight ends and one speedier fullback in Evan Rodriguez.’
Bills granted blackout extension
‘According to the team, there are still approximately 3,500 tickets remaining for the team’s second game against their division rivals. The Bills now have until Friday at 1 pm to sell the remaining tickets. If they do not, the game will not be seen on local television.’
Glenn proving to be a reliable protector
‘According to their statistics, after allowing just one sack this year, he is tied with four other tackles for least amount of sacks allowed.’
Bills granted extension to avoid Jets game blackout
‘The NFL has granted the Buffalo Bills a 24-hour extension, which will give the team an opportunity to sell the remaining ticket inventory to lift the local television blackout of the Sunday, November 17 game against the New York Jets at Ralph Wilson Stadium, sponsored by the New York National Guard. The team has until Friday at 1 p.m. to sell approximately 3,500 general tickets.’

Jets’ defense puts a lot on the line for Bills
‘Entering Sunday’s rematch at Ralph Wilson Stadium, New York is allowing 73.8 rushing yards a game, a total that not only leads the league this year but would stand as the 10th lowest figure in the last 30 NFL seasons.’
Beating Jets, Smith would help Manuel measure up
‘We won’t know if he’s a franchise player for another year or two. But if he wants to chase off the vultures, he needs to show progress over the final six games.’
Bills lose Woods and maybe Johnson; Jets WR Kerley to sit
‘Bills coach Doug Marrone said rookie receiver Robert Woods will miss his second straight game this week due to a high ankle sprain. Receiver Stevie Johnson was not able to practice Wednesday due to a strained groin he suffered in Sunday’s loss at Pittsburgh. Marrone said Johnson’s status for Sunday is uncertain.’
Buffalo Bills’ C.J. Spiller continues to struggle
‘”I just go into the game when I’m told to go into the game,” Spiller said Wednesday, declining an opportunity to speak out about his somewhat surprising lack of use. “I’m just frustrated that we’re on a three-game losing streak. I’m not frustrated with the amount of touches, I’m just sick and tired of the losing.”‘
Team practices in the cold
‘Like I told the players, feet, hands and head, keep that stuff warm and you’re in good shape,” he said. He then went on to explain why the team was outside on such a blustery day. “When we play at home, and with the wind and weather, I like to practice outside,” he said. “The only way we wouldn’t is if it became a situation where you couldn’t really get a lot out of it.”‘
