‘Carrington was attempting to fight off a block when another player rolled up the back of his leg during Bilal Powell’s 3-yard run up the middle.’

Bills RB Spiller expects to play after hurting leg
‘Though still experiencing some soreness, Spiller walked without a limp on Monday. He anticipates he should ”be good” to play Sunday, when Buffalo (1-2) hosts Baltimore (2-1).’
Bills DL Carrington done for season
‘Carrington was injured on a third-down run play up the middle in the fourth quarter. His knee buckled while attempting to push back Jets right guard Willie Colon off the line of scrimmage. The Arkansas State product fell to the ground and did not get up.’
Beat up Bills lose Carrington for season
‘”You have feelings and that’s what’s difficult. Here’s someone who has been very productive for the past three games and someone who is a very good football player. Here’s a player who has put in a lot of time, that’s been very consistent, a good leader for us and done everything we’ve asked him to do, and unfortunately he has an injury.”‘
Carrington done for year; Bills unsure on McKelvin for Sunday
‘”It’s tough. He’s a good player and he’s a great man,” the head coach continued. “You look at this game, and we know that injuries are a part of it, but at the same time it’s hard when you see those things happen. You feel for those players.”‘
Bills made me shout…obscenities!
‘I’m left hoping that the Jets defense will be perhaps the best the Bills will face this season and it will be easier from here on out for Manuel who hopefully gained invaluable experience from this miserable game. As to the cornerbacks, does anyone have Terrence McGee’s number on speed dial?’
Time Warp
‘So rather than getting a week to ponder what it would mean for the 2-1 Bills to host the defending champs, we now stare a 1-3 start in the face and the prospect that the Bills have not been struck by quarterback lightning. Instead we’re in for the all to typical growing pains that can come with youth.’
Alex Carrington out for the season
‘Carrington, who was a starter primarily at defensive end in Buffalo’s defensive scheme, was expected to have a big year. Marrone and defensive coordinator Mike Pettine spoke glowingly about him as being one of the most consistent players in training camp and the preseason.’
C.J. Spiller expecting to play on Sunday
‘”I’m a little sore, but it shouldn’t be nothing that’ll keep me out this week,” Spiller said Monday. “I should be feeling better, day by day, but just taking it slow. Just a little sore right now.”‘
Doug Marrone: ”Am I disappointed? Absolutely.”
‘Defensively, we’ve done a good job this year in the red zone; teams have been able to convert about 40% for touchdowns, which is much improved than we’ve been before. Offensively, right now we’re at 50% and that’s what hurt us at the end of the day.’
C.J. Spiller: ”I should be feeling better day-by-day”
‘Starting that second half I wanted to try and give it a go and see how it feels. The biggest thing was trying to keep it loose. I went out there and right before, I told Fred (Jackson) that if I don’t look like myself, come get me out of the game. I just felt like I couldn’t get power, that explosiveness off my leg. Ultimately I just came out of the game because to me I’m not going to put my team in jeopardy of hurting them and also I have to protect myself. The best thing for me to do is to swallow my pride at that moment and let my other guys go in there for me.’
Eric Wood: ”We kind of threw it away”
‘Some of the mistakes we made were terrible, myself included. We obviously have to bounce back. That was a game that we kind of threw it away. Credit them, they played well and they were able to hit some big plays on us, but that’s on us.’
Jets Beat Up Bills
‘Secondary: Grade F-: Rogers should be cut except there is nobody left to replace him. Injuries have killed this unit.’
Buried in the Meadowlands
‘In nine of the Bills’ 15 possessions, they had the ball for 5-or-fewer snaps and while three of the six longer ones produced field goals – Dan Carpenter hit four in all – Buffalo still lost the time-of-possession battle by disappointing 8 1/2 minutes.’
Suddenly, it looks like Bills have problems
‘”You’ve got three or four good football players that aren’t on the field. Those other guys have done a good job (but) at times they weren’t able to make the plays that they made the last two weeks.”‘
