‘Bills newly promoted president Russ Brandon and front-office brain trust have been in Arizona since Tuesday conducting their coaching search. According to the Bills’ website, the team interviewed Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton on Wednesday, a day after meeting with former Arizona coach Ken Whisenhunt, who was fired Monday.’

‘What comes first: Buffalo in the playoffs or a balanced budget?’

‘According to a league source, the Bills interest in Whisenhunt as their next head coach is “extremely high.” Wednesday morning on WGR Sports Radio 550, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com said there is mutual interest between the two sides.’

‘”To be completely honest with you I was pretty discourage when we were in Arizona going through what I went through last year and how it was playing out four or five games into the year, I was pretty discouraged, so I definitely feel lucky and pretty blessed I was able to make it through the year. A lot of it had to do with the way our trainers, coach Gailey and the way everybody handled me, just trying to get me to Sunday with the way things were.”‘

‘In speaking with the media, Horton admitted to having already interviewed with the Cleveland Browns and the Cardinals for their head coaching vacancies, adding that the Bills were the last ones scheduled to this point in time. He also said he has an offensive coaching staff ready to go if hired.’
