‘Kelsay has missed three of the last four games with a torn ligament in his neck, a freak injury that occurred in practice last month. He tried to return and play at Indianapolis in Week 12, but could not finish the game.’

Bills-Rams game sells out
‘Russell J. Salvatore of Russell’s Steaks, Chops and More guaranteed the purchase of all remaining tickets in time to lift the local blackout. The game will be televised locally on WUTV-TV FOX 29 and throughout the region on local Fox affiliates.’
Chan Gailey: ”Winning out is what we want to do”
‘I think I have said it in here a lot of times that the consistency of people being where they are supposed to be has increased dramatically. It is a trust factor amongst our defensive players that if I will take my gap and that other guy will take his gap, we will stop the run. I think the other thing that gets overlooked sometimes is I think our safeties are doing a really good job of supporting the run as well. We have had all three of them come up and make big plays in games to help stop running plays. So that is just another trust factor. Everybody else I playing their gap and that is their gap. They are making the play. All of that ties together to create a good run defense. We will need it this week. We will that run defense this week.’
Ryan Fitzpatrick: ”We’ve seen what we are capable of ”
‘We have definitely seen what we are capable of in spurts this year. There just needs to be a run here of consistently being able to put it together. All three phases and multiple games in a row. That is something that we are looking forward to trying to do.’
Carrington providing big hand to defensive front
‘”It was his most productive game for sure,” said head coach Chan Gailey. “It was good to have him actively involved-getting tackles for losses, batting passes, sacks and all of that kind of stuff. That is good. The more good players we can have in there, the better our rotation is and the better it makes us on defense.”‘
Chandler a tower of power for Bills
‘The fifth-year tight end has 32 catches this season, 27 of which have produced a first down. That first-down percentage of 84.4 ranks fourth in the NFL. Chandler’s only catch Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars went for his sixth touchdown of the season, making him the first tight end in team history to have at least six touchdown catches in consecutive seasons.’
Buffalo Bills street fest planned before Seattle Seahawks game in Toronto
‘Festivities include a main stage with live music, food vendors, NFL merchandise booths, football-skill participation areas, Kiss 92.5 FM personalities Mocha & DJ Clymaxxx, Bills alumni and the Bills mascot (Billy Buffalo). “There’s food, there’s beverage, there’s stuff for kids to do. So it’s going to be a fan and family experience,” said Greg Albrecht, executive director of Bills-in-Toronto.’
Marv Levy honored at South Shore High School
‘The winningest coach in Buffalo Bills’ history (112-70), Levy was a standout student/athlete at South Shore High School in the early ’40s. He was presented a “Hometown Hall of Famer” plaque during the event in the school auditorium.’
AP Pro32 comments about Bills
‘Progress comes in different ways for teams, and the Bills can at least say that there’s still something left to play for down the stretch. Haven’t been able to say that about them lately.’
For Bills, the beatdown goes on
‘Why is 5-7 the worst of existences? Because, as we’ve learned more than once, this is the most direct road to nowhere.’
From the Booth: Jaguars at Bills
‘The maddening part for Bills fans, is where was this defense for the first eight games of the year? You’d have to say the wrist injury suffered by Mario Williams was a major factor in Buffalo’s slow start on defense. And the team probably had a longer-than-anticipated break-in period for Dave Wannstedt’s new scheme.’
Toronto searching for better way to sell Bills’ visits
‘Albrecht said details such as term and the number of games remain up for discussion.’
Welcome back, Fred Jackson
‘Sure, Jackson will be 32 in February and has passed that dreaded running back age threshold of 30, but he can still have an impact as the No. 2 running back. Jackson has officially passed the torch to Spiller, but the veteran needs to be a big part of this offense in order for it to be most efficient.’
The Holiday Season Is Here
Win or lose, what’s best for the Bills?
‘Do they root for a season-ending five-game win streak, a 9-7 finish and that incredibly longshot bid for the playoffs? If that happens, of course, with a three-win improvement, Gailey, for sure, and possibly Fitzpatrick, would be back for a fourth season. Or should they hope Buffalo loses its last four, putting Gailey at risk and virtually assuring Fitzpatrick’s exit.’
