‘Bills’ top receiver Stevie Johnson is active after being limited in practice on Thursday and Friday because of a hamstring injury. Receiver Donald Jones returned after missing one game because of a calf injury.’

‘Ryan Fitzpatrick connected on 25-of-32 passes for 247 yards, one touchdown and an interception for the Bills (5-8), who have lost two of three.’

‘Johnson was hurt last week against Jacksonville and practiced on a limited basis Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday’s session.’

‘For the second time this season, the Bills passed up an opportunity for three points in a close, low-scoring game. And for the second time this season, it ultimately cost them in the end.’

‘Take nothing away from the Rams effort but there was no reason for the Bills to lose this game. Had there been better clock management, better play calling and better in game decision making the Bills would have been able to seal the victory and improve to 6-7 on the year.’

‘C.J. Spiller, who leads the NFL in yards per carry and is 7th in total yards from scrimmage, had a mere 8 touches(7 rushes and 1 catch) out of 58 offensive plays. It was the lowest number of touches for Spiller, who was averaging 7.3 yards per touch coming into the game, since the week 5 matchup in San Francisco. Spiller’s last carry came with 9:05 left in the 4th quarter. Actually that was his last touch for the game. The Bills ran 9 offensive plays the rest of the game and none went to Spiller.’

‘The reason for the boos was because the punt followed an almost mind boggling sequence that saw the Bills trot Rian Lindell out to attempt a 52 yard field goal. Gailey changed his mind, panicked, called time out and ended up punting. Getting scared about trying the field goal is bad enough. Blowing the time out is pretty much inexcusable. Remember, the Bills are at the 34 yard line. Even if you can’t get your head around the field goal, there certainly is no harm in taking the 5 yard penalty and saving the time out for later in what has been a close game all day.’

‘It’s that lack of killer instinct that killed the Bills again. It’s the lack of killer instinct that has the Bills at 5-8.’

‘Despite the upgrades at several positions the 5-8 Bills remain a bad team. They still don’t have a quarterback who can guide them to the playoffs. And they still don’t have a coach who can manage a game.’

‘For the second time this year the Bills lost a lead in the final minute at home to a mediocre opponent and went down to defeat. Sam Bradford ruined another solid performance by the Bills defense when he hit Brandon Gibson with a 13 yard touchdown pass with :48 left to give the Rams a 15-12 come from behind win over the Bills.’

‘After their only touchdown drive late in the third quarter, Buffalo’s offense struggled to string plays together resulting in a four-and-out followed by a pair of three-and-outs.’

‘Q: Is being the head coach and the coordinator catching up to you because these are not time management decisions that the head coach is supposed to make? A: I have done this my whole career. This if the way I have always done it. I do not see that as being something that changes now.’
