‘”They need to clean house. I mean it’s the same thing over and over; 12 year playoff drought. They need to do something. It’s got to start at the top down.”‘

Time For Changes At One Bills Drive
‘Yes, the revolving door at coach and quarterback is making us dizzy, but given the latest last-place finish, change is the only answer.’
Bills Win Meaningless Finale 28-9
‘Another long, painful, pathetic season mercifully comes to a close. Everyone knows that big changes need to happen I’m just not so sure they will. Chan Gailey has to go no question, but I’m not confident that this organization will make the move. Ralph Wilson hates to pay coaches not to coach and he hates coaching searches even more. They may convince themsleves that continuity is what is needed. If they don’t make changes there really will be nothing to look forward to in the 2013. Let’s hope they will at least give us something in the offseason to get optimistic about because I have taken just about all I can over the last 13 years.’
Defensive Adjustments Key Victory
‘Chan Gailey should have coached like he had nothing to lose but was timid like he was all year. On 4th and 3 from the Jets 32 they try a 50 yard field goal instead of going for it. If it was from 51 yards they probably would have punted. His team did show up for him and they really seemed to win the game for him.’
Bills close out 2012 with win over Jets
‘For Buffalo it was their first win over New York in three seasons as the Jets had taken each of the last six meetings and eight of the previous nine. The Bills last win over the Jets was Oct. 18, 2009 and it took overtime to do it (16-13).’
Players left to wait and see
‘”Changes take place every year in the NFL,” said Bryan Scott, a free agent this offseason. “It’s one of those things where changes are going to be made whether it’s on the coaching level or just the players level, it’s going to happen. I’m not concerned about it and I’m not worried about it because whatever is going to happen is going to happen. When the chips fall where they may you just kind of keep rolling with it.”‘
Chan Gailey: It was a good overall team victory
‘I thought that was an overall team win. Everybody contributed from the blocked field goal to the defense scoring and to the offense controlling the ball in the fourth quarter and scoring touchdowns. It was a team win. There were some critical plays in the game that we made. We had not been making some of those critical plays in the game and we made them this game. It was a good overall team victory.’
Ryan Fitzpatrick: This showed the kind of character we have
‘Yeah, but what we could control today is going out there and playing hard. Playing for each other because this is the last time this team is going to be together with all of the guys. These situations, they are kind of pride games like we talked about all week. They show what kind of man you are and what kind of character you have. I thought it really showed out there on the field what kind of character there is in our locker room.’
Stevie Johnson: We wanted to get to the playoffs
‘When we started the season off, we wanted to get to the playoffs and have a playoff berth. It didn’t end up that way, so it’s pretty weak as far as that goes. Winning our last game and going out with a win against the New York Jets is even better.’
Bills appear set to dismiss Gailey and Nix this week
‘Bills officials say their expectation is Wilson will hold a meeting of his top executives, including Nix, at some point this week to assess the season. That has been standard operating procedure for Wilson for decades.’
To beat their nemesis, Bills must run and pressure Sanchez
‘Jets 20, Bills 13.’
Blind spots
‘Gailey obviously can adapt when he wants to. Yet his refusal to change, his stubbornness on certain players and strategies, will be what doomed him in Buffalo.’
Wannstedt, Nix can run, but can’t hide shortcomings
‘Evidently, it’s OK for the players to stand and take the heat for the defense’s failures. But the guy in charge of this defense feels no need to defend himself. The same goes for general manager Buddy Nix, who bailed on his radio show Friday.’
Defense undermined Chan’s tenure
‘Gailey’s defenses have been a disaster, first with George Edwards as coordinator and now with Dave Wannstedt, who has colossally underachieved. If Gailey’s defense was even 15th this season in points allowed (instead of 31st), the Bills would be in playoff contention Nobody would be getting fired.’
Buffalo Bills try to close season on positive note
‘No one knows for sure whether Ralph Wilson will drop the axe on any of the aforementioned because no one knows for sure if the now reclusive 94-year-old owner is truly cognizant of the mess his franchise is in.’
