‘The Bengals drafted A.J. Green and Andy Dalton. Both have proven to be great draft picks and key pieces of that team in Cincinnati. But here’s why Nix’s comments made me chuckle: Nix had an opportunity to draft both players.’

Marv Levy says he could still coach and now he’s getting active on the Internet
‘”I would say on a scale of 1 to 10, I’m about a 3.5 right now,” Levy said with a laugh when describing his computer skills. “I can do email and a little research on it, but to say I’m real tech savvy … no, I’m not. My wife’s pretty good, my son-in-law is fantastic and my 4-year-old granddaughter is way ahead of me.”‘
Seahawks take flight to face Bills in Toronto
‘”Just playing for pride and hope,” receiver Stevie Johnson said. “At the end of the day, we most likely won’t be in the playoffs, but still, we’re putting on this Buffalo Bills jersey. You still have your name on the back. You still have people watching that support you. You’ve still got to go out there and play hard.”‘
Bills GM Buddy Nix: ‘Time’s now’ to draft a QB
‘Nix has said often that his goal is to add a young QB this offseason, but he’s also backtracked from those comments in follow-up interviews.’

Bills GM Nix talks drafting a QB yet again
‘”I think there’s a time that, in the era that you’re in and the development of your team, I think there’s a time when you can move up a round to take a quarterback, and I think the time is now for us,” he said. “If the guy’s there, I keep saying that — and there’ll be one out there. If the guy is there, then I think we’ll target, as I’ve said before, drafting a good quarterback. We need a good, young quarterback and we’re going to do our best to get one.”‘
Bills WR Jones has setback Friday
‘”Eh, we’ll see. I don’t know,” Gailey said when asked if he’s optimistic about Jones’ chances for Sunday. “It shows up and doesn’t show up, it shows up and doesn’t show up. We’ll see about Sunday.”‘
Bills’ Stevie Johnson welcomes slot talk with open arms
‘”Not to sound overly confident in myself, but I don’t think I can be handled outside. And now imagine me going against whoever I have to go against in the slot,” the confident wideout replied. “I think it’ll only help us out. I don’t see it as a demotion when they talk about moving me anywhere.”‘
Bills DE Moore would love to re-sign in Buffalo
‘”Whatever it is, I would love to come back and play here in Buffalo,” Moore said. “At the end of the day, they gave me my shot. I have to be loyal to the team that gave me my opportunity.”‘
Lee Smith becomes internet sensation
‘The video of Smith’s TD and subsequent fall into the first row of spectators ranks as the most-viewed video ever hosted on the team’s website.’
Scouting Report – Week 15
‘Seattle ranks 10th in the league in run defense, but in the six games prior to their whitewash of Arizona the Seahawks were giving up an average of 151.6 rushing yards a game. With Buffalo averaging better than 140 on the ground per game and third in the league in 20-plus yard runs this season, and Seattle is 21st in 20-plus yard runs given up.’
The root of the Bills’ problems: A reliable quarterback
‘Oh, we talked ourselves into Ryan Fitzpatrick for a while there. That’s what happens after run in which the Bills were led by Trent Edwards, J.P. Losman, Kelly Holcomb and the tattered remains of Drew Bledsoe. In 2009, Fitzpatrick – he’s from Harvard, did you know? – stepped in mid-season and went 4-4 as the starter, hardly revelatory but a far sight better than the 2-6 put together by Edwards and (shudder) Brian Brohm. The following season, perhaps because they weren’t all that enthused about making a 28-year-old journeyman the face of the franchise, the Bills went back to Edwards, and it took two games for them to remembered that he sucked.’
Bills’ Spiller on his own again
‘”I just gotta take what they’re gonna give me, and if a big one breaks I have to hopefully take advantage of it,” he added. “I can’t go into the game pressing. That’s going to be the biggest thing. I can’t go in there pressing for it.”‘
Toronto meeting feels like a bowl game to Carroll
‘”It’s kind of like a bowl game,” Carroll told Buffalo-area reporters on a conference call. “Here, go play at somebody else’s place and see what happens.”‘
