‘Bills officials say their expectation is Wilson will hold a meeting of his top executives, including Nix, at some point this week to assess the season. That has been standard operating procedure for Wilson for decades.’

To beat their nemesis, Bills must run and pressure Sanchez
‘Jets 20, Bills 13.’
Blind spots
‘Gailey obviously can adapt when he wants to. Yet his refusal to change, his stubbornness on certain players and strategies, will be what doomed him in Buffalo.’
Wannstedt, Nix can run, but can’t hide shortcomings
‘Evidently, it’s OK for the players to stand and take the heat for the defense’s failures. But the guy in charge of this defense feels no need to defend himself. The same goes for general manager Buddy Nix, who bailed on his radio show Friday.’
Defense undermined Chan’s tenure
‘Gailey’s defenses have been a disaster, first with George Edwards as coordinator and now with Dave Wannstedt, who has colossally underachieved. If Gailey’s defense was even 15th this season in points allowed (instead of 31st), the Bills would be in playoff contention Nobody would be getting fired.’
Buffalo Bills try to close season on positive note
‘No one knows for sure whether Ralph Wilson will drop the axe on any of the aforementioned because no one knows for sure if the now reclusive 94-year-old owner is truly cognizant of the mess his franchise is in.’
The top 5 past year’s laments
‘Buffalo’s (and Rochester’s) Bills continued punishing their fans in 2012 with sorry results.’
Game vs. Jets may be end of the line for several Bills
‘”The last three (seasons) have been frustrating,” Gailey said. “I have been fortunate to be around situations in the past where we have been able to turn it around in a fairly short period of time. We have not been able to do it yet, so yeah, it has been disappointing to me personally.”‘

Buffalo Bills to wear decals honoring slain firefighters
‘To honor these men, the Bills will wear decals that read “WWFD” (West Webster Fire Department) on the back of their helmets. The decals will join the “S.H.E.S.” decal already being worn to honor the victims of the tragic shooting earlier this month at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.’
5 things to watch for during Bills – Jets
‘Mark Sanchez will be the determining factor of this game. If he somehow recaptures his confidence and moves the ball against a beatable Bills defense, the Jets will come away with this game. However, without a true playmaker at wide receiver and no real running game threat, it’s going to be a struggle for Sanchez in my opinion. His offensive line essentially folded last week, and one of the players he picked on in Week One (Stephon Gilmore) is a completely different and improved cornerback since September 9, 2012. This has all the makings of a low-scoring game, but one that I think ultimately favors the Bills.’
Wilson adds personal game day touch for kids
‘This Sunday, as he has every week, safety George Wilson will ask one young fan to join him on the field during pre game to play catch and get to know an NFL player. Wilson said it’s something he looks forward to doing every game.’
Buffalo Bills Week 17 Report Card
‘I don’t know if Gailey will still be the coach in 2013. He shouldn’t be. The coaching staff needs an overhaul. It doesn’t matter if the head coach is offensive-minded or defensive-minded. The Bills need new blood at the helm. They need a new defensive coordinator who is willing to rush the quarterback. They need an offensive coordinator. The head coach calling the plays didn’t work. Bring in an offensive coordinator who can do the job.’
