‘The Rams have struggled on the road against non division foes and bringing them outside in December is a huge advantage for the Bills. That will be the difference I think as the Bills will continue their longshot run to the postseason: Bills 24, Rams 20.’

‘”I think the main thing is guys are playing fast,” said Kyle Williams of their pass rush success. “Guys are getting on and off of blocks and getting to the ball. Getting guys knowing where they’re supposed to be and getting there fast and how hard guys have worked. There’s really no substitute for that. We’ve practiced well really since the bye and it’s kind of paid off.”‘

‘But as soon as Fisher was axed, after a year off, he was hired, this time in St. Louis, a franchise that had gone 15-65 the last five seasons with either one or two victories in four of them. The change has been dramatic.’

‘”It was good to have him actively involved – getting tackles for losses, batting passes, sacks and all of that kind of stuff,” Bills coach Chan Gailey said. “That is good. The more good players we can have in there, the better our rotation is (on the defensive line) and the better it makes us on defense.”‘

‘Even avid Notre Dame fans might not be aware that Young, the Bills’ offensive lineman, holds the school record for career starts. Young started the opener as a true freshman for the Fighting Irish in 2006 and went on to start all 50 games in his four years. He hasn’t started a game since.’

‘”We’ve been playing great defense the last few weeks,” said Kelsay, who was put on the injured reserve list. “To be standing on the sidelines and watching it from afar, it’s disappointing. I’m envious of those guys being able to go out there and contribute and do what we know we’re capable of doing. It’s the nature of our business and unfortunately I’m on the sideline right now.”‘

‘”Whatever it is, it is,” Salvatore said. “I didn’t ask about the price. It hasn’t hurt me from when I did it two years ago … It can’t cost me too many steaks.”‘

‘That’s three positions that will be manned by different players in the span of one week, though it’s not really anything new for the Bills as they have endured more than their share of injuries the past few years, at all positions.’

‘.”It’s all new to me,” said the 10th-year veteran who, along with Terrence McGee and Rian Lindell are the longest-tenured members of the team. “I’ve never been on IR, I’ve always been pretty healthy for the most part. It’s frustrating, but at the same time we had some other guys get banged up this weekend and they have to make roster moves, so I understand where they’re coming from.”‘

‘Either Urbik or Snow will play center, with the one who is not moving to right guard. “We are going to work them both and I am not sure which way that will go to be honest with you,” Gailey said. “We are going to have to wait and see which way is the best way to go by the end of the week.”‘

Williams maintained all along that he would play better once he was back to 100 percent. He looks like a soothsayer now.
