‘Next season I expect the Bills to have another legitimate quarterback on the roster. I hope it’s the franchise QB Bills fans want and deserve to see on the field. But because of front office mistakes throughout the last few years, Fitzpatrick is the best you have in a BIlls uniform right now. We know big picture that is not good enough. But Sunday the Bills did not lose because of the quarterback. Forget the first 2 months of the year and look at Sunday as 60 minutes of football and you’d say the quarterback gave you a great Sunday. If he played like this every week then quarterback would not be the problem it is for this franchise. But he hasn’t so it is.’

Bills misery continues in Foxboro
‘It most likely will take six wins in their final seven games. I definitely believe they will win Thursday night’s home game against a Miami Dolphins team that was pummeled, 37-3, by Tennessee. That will be followed by a difficult road game against precocious Andrew Luck and his surprising Indianapolis Colts. Then, it’s two winnable home games against Jacksonville and St. Louis. I’d feel much better about the Seattle Seahawks game if it were outdoors in Buffalo instead of indoors in Toronto. The last two games will be at Miami on Dec. 23 and home against the Jets on Dec. 30.’
Immediate Reactions: New England 37, Buffalo 31
‘First: Ryan Fitzpatrick. If you’re looking for me to barbecue the non-franchise quarterback after he nearly overcame the world of slop that was his defense and early offensive line play, look elsewhere. You have to hate the interception at the end of the game, but I cannot commit to blaming the quarterback on a throw to a project wide receiver who was seemingly blamed by the color analyst before taking the blame himself.’
Bills Fall Short In New England 37-31
‘They had three possession in the red zone in the final quarter scored one touchdown and turned the ball over twice.’
Defense Stumbles In Another New England Loss
‘Chan Gailey did not give the ball to Spiller enough. He was open on the fateful interception play. Why go to Graham there if you don’t have confidence in going to him earlier in the game? Another coaching out thinking himself. Has to take the hit for the lack of discipline for all those penalties.’
Bills can’t pull out tight one vs. Patriots
‘On a 2nd-and-10 from the Patriots 15-yard line and a chance to win, Ryan Fitzpatrick committed his first and only turnover of the game as Devin McCourty intercepted the Bills quarterback in the end zone that was intended for T.J. Graham with 23 seconds remaining. New England kneeled out the remaining time on the clock to escape with a 37-31 victory dropping the Bills to 3-6 on the season.’
Chan Gailey: ”We couldn’t finish”
‘After all the talk that I gave about finishing, we couldn’t finish. Had the opportunity and could not finish. There were a lot of ups and downs, good and bad in that ballgame, but that’s the bottom line. We had the chance to finish and we didn’t.’
Ryan Fitzpatrick: ”This is a tough one to swallow”
Players react to loss in New England
‘”We knew that, every time we’ve played these guys, we’ve been successful moving the ball against them. That’s a great defense that we went up against and I’m proud of our guys, but at the same time, I’m very disappointed because we’re 3 and 6 and its now pretty much a must win from here on out.”‘
Buffalo’s passing game: The long and short of it
‘An inability to stretch the field has contributed to the Bills’ offensive woes. Buffalo ranks 21st in total offense despite a backfield that would be the envy of most clubs.’
Bills need to stop run, give Spiller ball
‘Patriots 37, Bills 23.’
Is Fitz the problem with this team?
‘It’s hard to argue. Sure, Fitz rates around the middle of NFL quarterbacks. But the eyeball test tells you the real story. He can’t make the big throws that separate the mediocre QBs from the elite ones. Today will be his 48th game as a Bill, the equivalent of three full seasons.’
Ralph Wilson working out with personal trainer
‘”He’s an amazing individual, and he’ll probably outlive you,” Mary Wilson said, with a wink, as she answered a reporter’s question about her husband. “Ralph wants to talk football every day. We have great hopes for the team.”‘
3 excess text messages prompt fan to sue Bills
‘”Furthermore, a ‘frivolous lawsuit’ is one that has little chance of succeeding in court,” the two attorneys stated. “This case is exactly the opposite. We have a defendant who appears to have violated a federal law on multiple occasions, affecting thousands of people. Whether you are a fan of the Bills or not, no one should spam their customers. The [Telephone Consumer Protection Act] has been on the books for more than 20 years. The Bills either knew or should have known that they were breaking the law.”‘
Mary Wilson honored for sharing her love of sports with inner-city girls
‘”My mother inspired me to do this. She taught tens of thousands of girls to do sports,” Wilson said of her mother, a former physical education and English teacher. “When I was 12 years old, my mother took me off the football field and put a tennis racket in my hand. I played tennis for 50 years and now play golf.”‘
