I don’t think that it was the wrong play, but just the whole thing leading up to it, which is he didn’t run that play in practice at all. It was not his fault at all. I’ve ran that play, or Scott (Chandler) ran it or Donald (Jones) runs it. But in that situation, I guess things were hurried up, and we had people in positions where maybe you shouldn’t have been. Who knows what would’ve happened if it was Donald or me or Scott there? So there’s no blame on T.J. at all because he’s never ran that route in practice or a game.”‘

The throw MIGHT be on target. Truth be told we can’t say the throw is or isn’t on target. It’s possible that Fitzpatrick would have thrown behind, or over top, or low if Graham was in the right spot. You can make that case if you’d like to but…the receiver isn’t where he is supposed to be. Very little of this interception appears to be on Fitzpatrick in my opinion. I think he executed things fairly effectively. He can’t run the route and catch the ball too.’

‘”It’s the same old thing. You draft them to play ’em now,” the head coach stated. “You don’t draft ’em to let them sit. There’s a few people that are doing that, but for the most part you’re drafting those guys to play.”‘

‘”That was a rookie mistake,” said Graham. “I was supposed to cross his face in the front. It was a good pass. If I went across his face, I probably would have made a play, so I take the blame for that one. That was my mistake. It might be why I don’t get on the field much. I can’t make those mistakes.”‘
