‘The other hit that Fitzpatrick is referring to came in the Patriots’ Week 4 win over the Bills when Spikes laid a blindside hit on Chandler following a Devin McCourty interception. He was fined $21,000 for the play.’

‘”I don’t know. You can sit here and talk about them,” he said. “Should there be calls, shouldn’t there be calls. You’ve got to look at the film and decide. You always have questions about them.”‘

‘”I think that he’s a punk at times and took a cheap shot at (Bills tight end) Scott (Chandler) in the first game and was doing a lot of talking and hitting out there. He’s not one of my favorite players, not high on my list. I think that’s all just mentality, and I think it’s important that you don’t back down from anybody.”‘

‘”The only thing you can ask for as a quarterback is a chance at the end to win the game,” Fitzpatrick said. “We were able to drive down and have a couple shots at the end zone, but we weren’t able to get it done.”‘

‘”We’ve been in position to beat them, like today, but we just don’t beat them,” said Lindell, who is in this 13th season and 10th with the Bills. “We’ve had our chances. But that isn’t enough. To beat the Patriots, you have to have your A-plus game. Really. They find ways to win. Trust me, I’ve seen a lot of them.”‘

‘”I guess it was nice to be out there, but I really wanted to be on the field,” Easley said. “To get to this point was a long time coming, to say the least, but I would have loved to have gotten out there, to try to help my team and try to make plays. Obviously I want more.”‘

‘Don’t expect Spikes to be torn up about losing a friend from upstate New York, though. He tweeted after the game: “Bahahahahahaaaa !! [smiley faces] *WizkhalifaLaugh*”‘

‘”Even through all that, to be right there at the wire, it says a lot,” defensive end Mario Williams said. “But if we hadn’t shot ourselves in the foot, it definitely would’ve been a different outcome. In the first half it might’ve been 100 yards in penalties. I mean, that’s crazy. We gotta play better.”‘
