‘They may be talented, actually they are talented, but they’re mentally soft. We had to watch the Sabres wait five years before they figured out their core was soft and they finally have broken it up. How long will it take Nix and Gailey or should they even get the chance?’

Rock Bottom for Bills…Again
‘They looked outclassed by what now appears to be a bad Jets team in the opener. They suffered a colossal collapse at the hands of Tom Brady and company last week and just when you thought that was rock bottom, they made Alex Smith look like Brady.’
Sideline Reactions: 49ers 45 – Bills 3
‘So, where does the Bills defense go from here? That’s a great question, because I don’t even think the Bills know the answer to that question.’
What Are We Doing?
‘For yet another week, in another season, we’ve all been reminded that Bills can’t really compete with the good teams in the NFL. Their quarterback isn’t good enough. The millions invested in defensive ends isn’t helping, and we’re all going to be year older soon.’
Bills Hit New Low
‘The Bills incompetence on defense has ignited a race to the record books to find out just how bad this two game stretch was, and in some cases, that means going back in time before the current NFL was even formed.’
Bills bow to 49ers in second straight blowout loss
‘The Bills were outscored 28-0 in the second half on Sunday, and have now given up 90 points in the last 6 quarters dating back to last weeks 52-28 loss to New England.’
Bills making wrong kind of history
‘Six-hundred-and-twelve yards. No sacks. Thirty-one first downs. Need we say more?’
Immediate Reactions: 49ers 45, Bills 3
‘The post to make – and I plan to – is about Buddy Nix rather than Fitz or Gailey. Fitz has certainly been inadequate, but how about these questions for Nix: no suitable backup QB, 5th & 6th rd picks in THIS year’s draft cut, no linebackers. I’m not sure we can make any judgments about Gailey. He hasn’t had too many big decisions to make.’
Bills Blown Away In San Fran
‘For the Bills to pull off the big upset in San Francisco they needed to play a near perfect game. They weren’t even close to playing that type of a game. That had three chances at touchdowns in the first half that would have given them a lead with the 49ers playing flat early. The McKelvin punt return for a score that was brought back. The overthrow of Stevie Johnson and the pass behind Donald Jones all could have been scores. It probably wouldn’t have mattered anyway as the 49ers could have scored at will and did once they stopped shooting themselves in the foot. It was another pathetic display by a defense that looks eerily similiar to last year’s doormats. The Bills go out West and get blown out. Somethings never change… Same Old Bills.’
Defense Crumbles Again In Another Blowout Loss
‘Dave Wannstedt has no answers after giving up 1,201 yards in the past two games!’
Dubious record for Bills D in loss to 49ers
‘In giving up over 600 yards of offense the Bills, according to CBS, became the first team since the 1950 Yankees to give up more than 550 yards of offense in back-to-back games.’
Chan Gailey: ”I have to find the answers”
‘”Obviously, there’s something I’m not doing correctly with this football team in the second half. Two games in a row after halftime, we’ve played extremely poor and that’s as nice as you can put it. Obviously, the turnover before the half really hurt and the turnover where we could’ve gone down and made it 24-10 really hurt. We’re not playing as physical as we should and we’re not doing the things we need to do.”‘
Ryan Fitzpatrick: ”They flat out dominated us”
‘”You have to try to do the same thing next week. You know you have to give a lot of credit to the 49ers they are a tough team to beat and this is a tough place to play. They didn’t do anything that fooled us defensively I mean. They just line up you know what they’re gonna do and they just say you have to beat us and they did a better job than we did today. There was no fancy stuff out there it was they are who they are and they played better than us today.”‘
Mario Williams: ”It is all on us”
‘”No. You don’t get beat like that from your head coach. I don’t care what you say. He is not out there going to get sacks, he is not out there covering receivers, he is not out there getting turnovers. This is like I said from the No.1 to No. 11 guy on defense. This is all on us. We have to get turnovers. I think we lost the turnover battle again this week and that hasn’t been good for us since day one. It is all on us. We have to focus on football.”‘
Players react after loss to 49ers
‘”After last week, I would have bet that this team would have come out and played a lot better than we played today. Now going on two weeks and giving up that many run yards and giving up the plays that we gave up, it’s disappointing and deflating, but I don’t lose hope and I’m going to keep striking and keep pushing forward because I know that we have the potential and the make-up that we have in this room. We just have to show it.”‘
