‘Veteran defensive lineman Spencer Johnson has a chance to return after missing two games with an ankle injury. Gailey said Johnson looked good for a second straight day.’

‘”Every time he touches the ball, he scares you,” coach Chan Gailey said. “Yes, he hasn’t made as many yards and the statistics are down, but I’m telling you, defensive coaches hold their breath every time he touches it.”‘

‘In addition, the chemistry between number one qb and number one wide receiver seems to be suffering. The frustration is clearly building for Stevie Johnson who is getting open but can’t do much when the pass is off target.’

‘I went to Fred and I told him ‘Let’s do two series’. It’s kind of hard when you’re out there for one series, you get into a flow and you come out. We thought it would be best if we did two series so that’s what we’ve done these last two games. We’ll continue to do that. If they want us in on certain plays, the coaching staff will do that but as far as me and Fred are concerned, we think two to three series each is better because it kind of keeps everybody fresh.’

‘As far as McGee goes Gailey said, “Terrence, we held again today, we’re going to try to get him on the field tomorrow.” McGee said, “I’ll be out there tomorrow.” As far as the game on Sunday he said, “Yes, I’ll be out there too. That was the plan just to let me get a little more rest from the previous game because I played more plays.” McGee played 35 plays in Arizona, which is 20 more plays than he had in San Francisco. He of course is enjoying the extra time, “At certain points, not every play, but a couple of plays I actually felt real good, like I was bouncing around real good. There were some series where I could feel it in my knee.”‘
