‘”When it was built, it was a great stadium, an ideal stadium,” Wilson told The Buffalo News. “But things change over the years.” Wilson made those comments 23 years ago.’

Bills’ Johnson returns to where it all began
Bills must be patient with running game, stop run
’49ers 40, Bills 10.’
Hitting reset not so easy for dispirited ëD’
‘”Yeah, I was sick,” he said. “If you’re not sick to your stomach, what are you doing here? I know most guys were. I thought about it all day when we left. I thought about it all night. I don’t think I went to bed until 5 o’clock in the morning, to be honest. The agony of defeat is what you call it.”‘
Enthusiasm first in ëHarbaugh 101′ syllabus
‘”Enthusiasm unknown to mankind,” Bills rookie safety Delano Howell, who played for Harbaugh, said with a smile in the locker room on Thursday. “We heard that every day! And that’s what he did, too. Even in meetings, he was enthusiastic. He’d be out there at practice, throwing the ball with quarterbacks or DBs and was always active and involved in practice. He always wanted to set an example for us – and not just football, to be enthusiastic in class, and in everything we do.”‘
Buffalo Bills seeking mental toughness
‘”For us, this will be a big game in terms of where we are mentally.”‘
Buffalo Bills great Fred Smerlas deserves spot in Hall of Fame
‘What’s little known is that historians credit Smerlas for changing the way the nose position was played in the 3-4 scheme that came into vogue in the mid-1970s. Instead of playing off the center and shading a shoulder, Smerlas got up in the center’s face, played two gaps, and occupied multiple blockers.’
Harbaugh, Bills’ Wannstedt have a past
‘In 1996, Harbaugh, then the Colts’ quarterback, leapt to the defense of two teammates by ripping Wannstedt.’
49ers key matchup No. 2: Anthony Davis vs. Mario Williams
‘With the fat salary comes huge expectations for Williams in Buffalo. This far, Williams has not produced.’

5 things to watch for during Bills – 49ers
‘The Bills don’t match up with the 49ers particularly well. With the run defense being attacked as much as they were last week, San Francisco will likely follow that model in the upcoming contest. Their powerful and road-grading offensive line enables them to run the ball as efficiently as they do. That, combined with the likelihood of the 49ers defense to force turnovers on a turnover-prone Bills offense, leads me to believe San Francisco will come away victorious. Meanwhile the Bills are likely destined for a 2-3 record, and a loss to start off their most critical five-game stretch of the season.’
