‘”In the past years I’ve been studying both the safety position and the linebacker position, but the linebacker I was learning on my own,” said Scott. “Now that I’m in the linebacker room I have a coach that teaches me up and teaches me technique. It makes it a whole lot easier.”‘

Sheppard wants Bills’ run ëD’ to make statement
‘”We’re going against one of the biggest, most athletic, most physical teams in the NFL. We’ve got to go out there and get the job done,” Sheppard said. “I think it’ll be a statement to reassure our guys, ‘Hey, last week was a fluke.’ We can’t let that happen again.”‘
Moorman tells kids about turning the page
‘”They just wanted to go in another direction, and I respect them for that. That’s fine,” Moorman said about the Bills’ decision. “I think they’ve been trying to do that for a while, and I’m proud that I made it hard on them. Do I agree with it? No. Who would?”‘
Moorman still committed to PUNT Foundation
‘”He comes in every Tuesday. He stays and visits and talks to the kids. He gets to know their names and their families. He checks up on kids. He goes to their homes,” she said. “He gives a personal touch that helps families get through this. He touches people’s hearts.”‘
49ers say they’ll have hands full with Buffalo defensive line
Whitner’s Blog: Facing Old Friends
‘There’s no hard feelings towards the Bills. I appreciate that they drafted me No. 8 overall and allowed me to play for five years. I made a lot of friends over there and a lot of them are still on the team, so there’s no hard feelings towards them.’

49ers return home from big win, Bills head to San Francisco after embarrassing loss
‘Buffalo has yet to find the answers.’
Bills hit the road for 2-game West Coast swing
‘Coming off an embarrassing 52-28 loss to New England, the Bills can’t afford too many more blown tires entering what’s become a critical portion of their schedule. Buffalo is opening a stretch in which it will play four of its next five on the road.’
Vikings LB Greenway fined $21,000
‘Spikes used an illegal blindside block during an interception return, hitting Bills tight end Scott Chandler, who left the game with a head injury. No penalty was called. Chandler has been cleared to play this Sunday at San Francisco. Buffalo DT Kyle Williams was fined $15,750 for roughing the passer, hitting Tom Brady below the knee area. Williams intends to appeal the fine, questioning what he did wrong when attempting to make a tackle while Brady still had the ball.’

’49ers 30, Bills 20.’
Bills’ Byrd, Rinehart listed questionable vs. 49ers
‘Byrd came in to the week with a hip pointer that kept him off the practice field to open up the work week for the Bills. He got back on to the practice field in a limited capacity on Thursday, and was also able to practice on Friday as well. After practice, Gailey said Byrd “looked okay.”‘
Rush to Judgment on Defense?
‘At the quarter pole, the defense looks like I thought it would. It features an improved front four but at this point, lacks playmakers in the linebacking corps and suffers at times from an inexperienced but talented group of cornerbacks.’
Brian Moorman Talks About Leaving Buffalo
‘”Surprised, yeah I would say that. In some ways it was a relief and others, (let’s) take a fresh start and move on. Find a positive out of a negative and find a way to make it help in some way in what we’re doing. I think the choice I made there was let’s see if we can parlay this into helping kids with our foundation even more, create the awareness, make sure that people know we want to keep the foundation alive and going here in Buffalo and Western New York. Make sure that people know that even if I’m not living here right now or playing here that I’m part of this community.”‘
