‘hate to forget all that Fred Jackson has accomplished, but Spiller’s a younger, more explosive player. So yes, he is the team’s best offensive player. No debate.’

More Bills games expected in Toronto: report
‘Although attendance for each of the games in Toronto has exceeded 50,000, there have been conflicting reports as to whether the series has been a financial success for Rogers.’
Bills defensive line finally showing some oomph
”’Obviously, from what you saw yesterday, it is a lot better. It’s a lot better for us. It’s a lot better for our win-loss column,” Williams said. ”You have to go out and make things happen, and I think we did a lot more of that yesterday.”’
Bills S Jairus Byrd nursing swollen right foot
‘Coach Chan Gailey said tests were negative on Monday, a day after Byrd was hurt in a 35-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Gailey expects Byrd to be healthy to play at Cleveland on Sunday.’
Buffalo Bills’ Williams to unveil ”MariOs” cereal
‘MariOs are available at Buffalo-area Tops supermarkets. Sales will benefit the Carly’s Club children’s cancer charity.’
Spiller’s record start giving Bills’ offense needed options
‘”I’m just having great weeks of preparation,” said Spiller, who has taken over as the starter with Fred Jackson sidelined a month with a knee injury. “The offensive line is doing a great job covering these (tacklers) up. We knew coming into the game we were going to have to be very decisive running – put your foot down and take what they give. So I think it all starts with our preparation.”‘
Strategy And Personnel
‘Chan Gailey had a much better day calling the offensive plays. He crafted a plan heavily reliant on the run because of what he gleaned from film study, and he stuck to it, feeding the ball to the dangerous C.J. Spiller. There were some odd calls in the third quarter when he went back to the pass, but it didn’t matter in the end. On defense, the Bills were much more aggressive in their rush packages, often sending blitzers to harass Matt Cassel and the result was five sacks and three turnovers. Defensive coordinator Dave Wannstedt also had his CBs playing more physical in press coverage and it disrupted the Chiefs.’
Bills linemen not pleased with Hali’s tactics
‘”They get ticked off, and when you get a team down, they’re going to take some shots at you,” Wood said. “That’s why we weren’t taking our foot off their throats toward the end. That’s stuff that rubs you pretty raw.”‘
Upon Further Review- Bills OL & DL vs. Chiefs
‘Mark Anderson led the way in play time. It was hard to ignore his efforts on the field, too. Anderson was whipping around all over the field — having been lined up on both the right and left defensive end spot, as well as standing up to threaten with a rush up the middle of the offensive line. Anderson was the most consistent defensive end in putting pressure on the quarterback. He forced the pocket to collapse a couple of times, even though he didn’t come away with a sack.’
Bills’ Gailey now believes Spiller can handle more carries
‘”Can he, yes he can. Will we ask him to, probably not. I’d like to not just go out there and run him 25 times a game, but if that’s what it takes to win the game, that’s what we’ll do, but you’d rather not. Choice did a great job, he did do a good job yesterday, but when you get Fred back, you feel a lot more confident splitting those carries and keeping both of them fresh.”‘
Bills Byrd hurting
‘On Monday Chan Gailey said he expects his safety to be OK this week, “He came out with it, he played the whole game and it came out a little bit more swollen today than maybe all of us had hoped, but I think he’ll be fine for this weekend.”‘
Hot Reads from Bills/Chiefs
‘Not much else can be said or written about CJ Spiller that hasn’t already. I used the word “special” to describe him on the Overtime postgame show Sunday night. He is showing he can be, and has a chance to be a really special player in this league.’
Transcript: Gailey, Fitzpatrick, Williams, Kelsay & Scott
‘No. It looks like we came out pretty good in the ball game. Nothing major for sure. Some little minor things may keep guys out of some work during the course of the week, but I think we will have everybody for Sunday.’
Gailey comfortable with platooning players
‘”We felt like with the matchup that we had in this ball game we were going to give Justin (Rogers) a chance to go out there and play, and he was playing so well we just left it the way it was,” said Gailey. “He’ll stay there right now and they’ll both keep practicing there and we’ll see how it goes in the future.”‘
Spiller takes Jackson up on his challenge
‘But two years after Spiller was taken with the ninth overall pick, Nix has earned some well-deserved respect for his prescience.’
