Spiller, Richardson hope to shine for Jim Brown
‘"It’s a humbling experience to be mentioned with those two guys," Spiller said of his connection to Brown and Simpson. "Those are two of the greatest running backs to ever play the game. But I can’t dwell on the success we’ve had because it’s a long season. Our main goal is to make the playoffs."’
Searcy a safety valve in secondary
‘”Every week I go out prepared as if I am going to start,” Searcy said. “You never know what can happen in a game. We had an incident when George (Wilson) was out for a few plays and I had to go in and play strong. It’s just good preparation throughout the week.”‘
Leader’s role a natural for Bills’ Wilson
‘”Any time your peers, your teammates, vote you into a leadership role, whether it’s as team captain, or myself, Moorman and Kelsay being our reps , those positions come with a great deal of responsibility,” Wilson said. “My mind-set going into that is just making sure I’m leading by example. I think far too often many people who are in a position of leadership do a lot of talking, but don’t necessarily put the action behind the words.’
Byrd optimistic about facing Browns
‘”I’m encouraged by it,” he said. ” definitely better. The trainers have done a great job helping me, so hats off to them.”‘
State, county ‘in lockstep’ on keeping the Bills here
‘A statement issued by Lt. Gov. Robert Duffy and Deputy County Executive Richard Tobe noted that representatives from the state and county “had a very productive meeting on their joint efforts to keep the Bills in Buffalo.”‘
Cleveland Browns, like Buffalo Bills, struggling to regain glory
‘Both teams have endured more than their share of bad quarterbacking, horrendous defense, terrible personnel decisions, poor coaching hires, and just plain old bad luck for the past decade-plus.’
Rookie Schwartz will have hands full against Bills’ Mario Williams
‘”It’s definitely a test,” Schwartz said. “You are in the NFL and you want to see how good you are. You are facing one of the best guys in the league, a guy who can pass rush and (defend the) run pretty well. So I think it’s a good test for me, personally, and it’s a good test for our offensive line and our entire offensive unit.”
Mitchell Schwartz’s matchup against Bills’ Mario Williams vital
‘But trying to contain the 6-6, 292-pound Williams can be a nightmare. It will be the greatest challenge of Schwartz’s young career and probably the most difficult mission he’ll embark on all season. The Browns will give Schwartz ample blocking help with tight ends and running backs, though he’ll have some one-on-one encounters with Williams, too.’

Time For Old School Football
‘With a victory over the Browns, the worst case scenario has the Bills at 2-3 going to Arizona in week 6. A loss to Cleveland not only hurts their record but psychologically it could do some damage as well. The Browns havent’t won more than five games in any of the last four seasons and are 18-46 over that stretch.’
Bills’ Barnett & Byrd expected to play
‘Barnett rested Thursday for what head coach Chan Gailey said was a knee ailment. On Friday, the linebacker was given the probable distinction for the team’s upcoming contest against the Cleveland Browns.’
Legislators Want Updates on Bills Lease Negotiations
‘”We’re talking a lot of money and we’re talking something that’s very important to Western New York,” said Republican Legislator Lynn Dixon of Hamburg. “We understand that to some extent things need to be kept private. However, when we’re trying to plan for 2013 and we’re trying to plan for 4 years ahead it would be nice to know where things stand right now with the Buffalo Bills.”‘
