‘”There were some things said about us that we didn’t particularly like,” said linebacker Calvin Pace, who had three big hits on Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick early on. “Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. Our job is to prove some of the naysayers wrong. I think we did a good job of that today.”‘

‘Sanchez was the best quarterback and arguably the most valuable player in Sunday’s season-opening, 48-28 blistering of the Buffalo Bills and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who looked ordinary by comparison with his three interceptions and 66.5 passer rating, nearly 57 points below Sanchez’s pristine 123.4.’

‘”As much time as that team spent on the Wildcat, maybe it took away from some other preparation,” Ryan said. “We have that ability and certainly can do a lot more out of it.”‘

‘The Jets sprinkled in their wildcat package with Tim Tebow, who was mostly quiet but recovered a late onside kick by Buffalo, and Jeremy Kerley had a touchdown catch and a punt return for a score. Antonio Cromartie also took one of New York’s three interceptions of Ryan Fitzpatrick to the end zone.’

”’We’re not going to go around like the sky is falling,” Bills coach Chan Gailey said. ”I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to let them do that.”’

‘Jackson, who went on injured reserve last November with a broken right leg, went down with 11:07 left in the first half Sunday when he ran for 7 yards and was hit hard by LaRon Landry. Jackson went down immediately and stayed down for a few moments while he was checked by trainers before walking on his own to the sideline.’

‘Among the Bills’ inactives were: quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, wide receiver T.J. Graham, safety Delano Howell, defensive end Kyle Moore, linebacker Kirk Morrison, offensive tackle Sam Young and center Colin Brown.’

‘The New York defense featured interceptions by Darrelle Revis, Kyle Wilson and Antonio Cromartie, as well as a fumble recovery, leading to half of the Jets’ scoring output.’
