‘”The most telling moves were the early ones” he responded. “The hiring of Marv. Without him none of what came about would happen. The signing of Jim Kelly was so symbolic. It ended for the fans, the franchise and the area, a long period of darkness where Buffalo was the butt of jokes. With the signing of Kelly, it turned everything around from a psychological standpoint.”‘

Polian Shares Bills Memories
Young Embraces Backup Role With Bills
‘For the second straight season Young is working on a one year contract. He said its not always easy to accept but he’s dealing with the situation. “Somewhat. The biggest thing is it’s not about me. It’s not about me at all. It’s where I can go in and help. My biggest thing is trying to (change my) perception and who I am as a person. Buddy (Nix), (David) Lee, and the coaching staff, and Andy Reid over there, everybody’s getting the perception of who I really am as a person so that’s all I care about.”‘
Expertise of Gailey, Lee sold Young
‘”I just really respect Coach Gailey and Coach Lee,” Young told Buffalobills.com. “I got a chance to work with some great guys over my years. Coach (Mike) Heimerdinger, may he rest in peace, and coach Andy Reid and Marty Morhninweg, two guys that read their history, done some great things and coached some great quarterbacks. So I thought this was an opportunity for myself to come in and learn some more knowledge on being the best I can be as a quarterback. That’s the biggest thing I was thinking about to up my skill level some more working with these guys.”‘
Transcript: Vince Young Joins the Bills
‘It’s just being around a great team. I had a chance to watch the guys play a lot last year on film because pretty much the guys who they were playing we were right behind when I was in Philly (Philadelphia). As well as with Coach Gailey and Coach D. Lee, I call him, Coach (David) Lee. I know he’s been trying to recruit me for a long time since I was coming out of high school to come to Arkansas. To get a chance to come here to study, work hard and listen to the knowledge that they have to bring to the game, my game, make my game even better I thought that was a great opportunity for myself.’
Game selected to honor Bills Wall of Famer Bill Polian
‘Former Bills General Manager Bill Polian will be added to the prestigious list of names on the Buffalo Bills Wall of Fame during a ceremony on October 21, 2012 against the Tennessee Titans at Ralph Wilson Stadium.’
OL Asper fares well in center of the action
‘”Day one it was all I could do to think about getting the ball to the quarterback and thinking about the plays and footwork and the defense and that stuff wasn’t really happening,” he said. “I had some narrow tunnel vision, but as the days went on I didn’t have to think about the snap, it became automatic, so I could start looking to see where the defensive tackles were and then I could see where the linebackers were. The last day I felt real comfortable to see what the whole defense was doing.”‘
WNY tour impresses new Bills
‘"I’ve been having fun so far. It’s great to see the city finally. Sitting in the hotel room, I didn’t really think too much about Buffalo, didn’t have a chance to really see anything," he said. "But now that I’m out and getting a chance to go places, it’s nice. I like it."’
Bills sign 3 free agents, including FB Dickerson
‘Selected in the seventh round of the 2010 draft by Houston, Dickerson appeared in seven games for the Texans before being released by the team.’
Bills rookies enjoy their first look at WNY
‘For many of the first year Bills, this is the first time out into the community. Third round pick T.J. Graham was really enjoying the day, “It’s been fun. I’ve been excited to get out of the hotel room, get away and do something different. This is my first time out and I’m having a lot of fun, visiting places I wanted to see and meeting people in Buffalo and the kids too, this has been fun.”‘
Bills add Dickerson, cut QB Corp
‘The Bills only had one roster spot open, so they also released two players to make room. Former Richmond quarterback Aaron Corp and Mercyhurst safety Ian Wild.’
Bills’ LB Bradham yearns for more than big hits
‘”I’m a physical linebacker and I like to take pride in that. I feel like it sets the tone that it’s defense, being able to just know your toughness and our physicality and discipline. It all goes hand in hand.”‘
Brooks Knows Patience and Opportunity
‘During rookie camp, Brooks has been working on the left side with top draft choice Stephon Gilmore on the right. When Brooks makes a play he loves to hear it from the crowd. “It just excites me knowing that the fans are behind you that just gives you more confidence to go out there and do what you do and that’s what I fed off of. At LSU the fan base was amazing so hopefully I’ll be able to come up here and the fans give me that same energy and I give the same energy back to our fans and hopefully get us a Super Bowl.”‘
Bills sign pair of tryout players and undrafted free agent
‘There were 21 prospects taking part in Bills rookie minicamp this past weekend on a tryout basis. In all likelihood only one or two might get a call back. For Dorin Dickerson and Nick Saenz the three days of work gave them an opportunity to further pursue an NFL career. Both were signed by Buffalo on Monday.’
Glenn’s focus: Helping Bills’ offense
‘"Honestly I’m just out here trying to help this team out and to compete," Glenn said. "I wouldn’t put anything into it."’
