‘The Bills drop to 5-4, and fall out of a tie for first place in the AFC East. Chan Gailey said his team is more of “a pretender than a contender.”‘

Bills Injured in Dallas
‘Wood suffered a right knee injury when he was blocked by DeMarcus Ware following a Ryan Fitzpatrick interception. Wood was carted off the field. Sources tell News 4 Sports’ John Murphy that it’s an injury to Wood’s ACL ligament. But it’s not yet known if that ACL is torn, which would end Wood’s season. An MRI test Monday will answer that question. Chan Gailey has already ruled Wood out of next week’s game in Miami.’
Putrid effort by Bills
‘Amish Rifle? More like Amish cap gun.’
Cowboys Destroy Bills 44-7
‘The defense is pathetic when they don’t force turnovers. Thanks to the Ryan brothers the league has seemed to catch up to the spread offense. Changes need to be made fast or this season will go down the drain like it did after the quick start in 2008. I’m afraid it may be too late already.’
Total Team Meltdown
‘The corners may be among the worst in the league.’
Bills ambushed in Dallas
‘Buffalo could not generate a pass rush on Romo, who looked more than comfortable in the pocket. The Bills committed to coverage for most of the half, but they had no answer for Jason Witten or Bryant who collectively had 10 catches for 99 yards including four of the Cowboys seven third down conversions.’
Wood could miss Miami game
‘”It’s a knee injury. To what extent they did not tell me,” Gailey said. “I would doubt that he is ready for this week. It might happen, but I would doubt that he’s ready for this week.”‘
Bills’ Fred Jackson hasn’t forgotten his Sioux City roots
‘"It’s a different route I had to take, but I had to make it and I’m happy with it," said Jackson, who holds 16 Bandit records. "I don’t know if I brought any work habits (from the Bandits), I’ve always been a hard worker. Playing the indoor game allowed me to adjust to the speed of the NFL game. Speed was the biggest thing I learned and took from the indoor game."’
Cowboys’ Romo has a split personality
‘The fact Dallas has won just one playoff game in Romo’s tenure only fuels criticism of Romo’s every miscue in football-mad Texas. Until he wins more in the postseason, Dallas fanatics likely will keep bringing up his fumble on a hold of a field-goal try to lose his first playoff start. Or Dallas’ home loss as a No. 1 seed a week after Romo’s quickie vacation to Mexico with then-girlfriend Jessica Simpson.’
Offensive line has its work cut out against Ware and Cowboys’ pass rush
‘Bills 30, Cowboys 28.’
Fitz faces his first true test as the face of the franchise
‘The first half of the year was one of the most consistently entertaining in years. But it’s been like watching your child ride a bicycle for the first time. You run alongside, proud and apprehensive, wondering how long it’ll be before they lose their balance and fall off.’
Bills and Cowboys have plenty to prove
‘There has to be clear thinking about how far they can go in ’12 with the existing talent. Two of the team’s cornerbacks, Leodis McKelvin and Drayton Florence, are among the candidates for new addresses. McKelvin makes far too many mistakes while Florence soon hits that undesirable 10th year as a pro.’
Bills need offense to regain form
‘”The biggest thing is scoring more than your opponent,” Fitzpatrick said. “We obviously don’t like the losses that have come, but I think we’ve still got a lot of confidence on offense. The confidence is still high and I think we still think that we’re going to do good things every week.”‘
In decline, Cowboys never gave Chan Gailey room to grow
‘In the scheme of things, he was only here long enough to enjoy a cup of coffee and a few Krispy Kreme donuts, which he would pick up for his staff on the way to work most mornings.’
Chan Gailey should count his lucky stars Jerry fired him
‘Chan is a good man, and a good coach. He also ought to tattoo a horseshoe on his butt, as a reminder of how lucky he was to be fired here.’
