‘Were it not for Mark Sanchez and his inability to take advantage of the opportunities he himself helped create, this would not have been a game beyond the first quarter.’

Jets stifle Bills’ offence in key AFC East win
‘The exciting Buffalo offence, which has been the signature of the team’s successful start to the season, chugged and sputtered, stopped in its tracks by atypical moments. They struggled to make first downs and were especially troubled on third down. Reliable star running back Fred Jackson fumbled, while Fitzpatrick was throwing off-target much of the day and tossed two interceptions.’

Jets stop Bills in AFC East showdown
‘The Jets’ defensive mantra against the high-octane Bills was simple: Shred the Spread.’
Jets defense wakes up just in time for playoff race
‘If this was the measuring stick game it was billed as in the AFC East, the Jets more than measured up, and the Bills fell woefully short.’
Jets stop Bills 27-11 in AFC East showdown
‘Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two interceptions before adding a mean-nothing touchdown with 3:14 left in Buffalo’s first home loss.’
Bills PK Lindell hurts shoulder in loss to Jets
‘Lindell was slow getting up, and was holding his right arm on his way to the sideline. Lindell hit a 24-yard field goal later in the third quarter, but was held out in the fourth.’
Former Bills K Norwood honored
‘Norwood is the 31st former player selected for the award, which honors past players for their contributions to the team both on and off the field.’
Bills LB inactive for Jets game
‘Kelsay will miss his third game in the last four because of a nagging calf injury. He played last Sunday against Washington, and practiced Wednesday before being limited the rest of the week.’
NY Jets 27, Buffalo 11
‘Fred Jackson gained 82 yards on 18 carries but committed a costly fumble early in the third quarter as Buffalo failed to capitalize on the momentum of last week’s shutout victory against Washington.’
Bills Fall to Jets at Home
‘New York took the commanding lead in the fourth quarter when John Conner scored from the goalline to make it 27-3.’
Reaction: Jets 27 – Bills 11
‘It was pure dominance on the part of the Jets. If it weren’t for Sanchez turning the ball over three times in the first half, this game would have been out of hand way earlier than it was.’
It’s one failed test
‘I know the Bills are a team learning how to win. Learning how to excel in big games. When New England was here, the Bills passed the test. This one they failed miserably, but thanks to the Giants walking into New England and beating the Patriots, there’s a three way tie for first place in the AFC East. Buffalo still has a game in New Jersey and in New England. The Bills still face the Dolphins twice.’
Bills Offense Can’t Solve Jets Defense
‘”We didn’t show up how we usually do. When it started off in the first half we were three-and-out, three-and-out, three-and-out. We can’t do that against a team like that,” said Bills receiver Stevie Johnson.’
Jets Shine Light on Bills Dark Spots
‘As discouraging as the loss to the Jets was, and is for the Bills, it should not come as that big a surprise and it should not deter them from thinking they’re still very much alive in the division and playoff hunt. The Jets, disappointed in a 4-3 start, are a confident and talented team that has just missed playing in the Super Bowl the past couple seasons. They used the bye week to full advantage, as give Rex Ryan credit, as distasteful as that is, for having his team prepared and focused on the Bills.’
