‘Twice, Chan Gailey and his assistants made the right adjustments and found a way to come back and win games they were down big. Another game (KC), they were far more prepared than their opponent. That’s all great, but they were also out-coached and out-adjusted at the half in Cincinnati and Oakland and New England came into Orchard Park better prepared to start the game than the Bills did. So, out of the eight halves of football the Bills have played, I’d say they outcoached their opponents in five of them. All that being said, the true mark of coaching in the NFL is getting the most out of the talent you have on your roster. And I don’t think many would argue the Bills coaches have done a good job of that overall so far.’

Lindell is making a point
‘”Things get embellished here whether it’s good or bad,” said Lindell , whose 18 consecutive field goals with Buffalo is a franchise record. “If you do something good, you’re the greatest guy ever. But if you do something bad and you lose, it’s like ‘this is the worst guy ever.’ It’s not like ‘Friday Night Lights’ where they’re coming at you with a pitchfork. But the people are pretty passionate about their Bills.”‘
Florence finds motivation in slights
‘"It’s just how I am as a person," said Florence, a nine-year veteran who will start on Sunday when the Bills (3-1) host the Philadelphia Eagles (1-3) at 1 p.m. at Ralph Wilson Stadium. "I’ve always been an underdog and I’ve always had people tell me what I can’t do. It’s just life. You either respond to it or go ball up in a corner and cry about it. I’m always going to stand up and respond."’
Bills’ Spiller waiting for his chance
‘Spiller has struggled to learn how to run effectively against NFL defenses, he really hasn’t figured out how to operate as a receiver from the slot, and his pass protection and blitz pick-up is well below average – especially compared to the man who’s in front of him on the depth chart, Fred Jackson.’
Eagles to honor soldier’s family
‘”I’m just amazed that a big professional football team and coach – to me they’re famous – would take the time out of their busy schedules to honor my son,” she said.’

Bills Attempt to Solve Vick Riddle
‘”He’s insane. He’s out of this world just in terms of his play making ability,” said Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, Vick’s Sunday counterpart. “Being able to throw from the pocket, being able to escape and throw out of the pocket, his running ability obviously and his arm strength. Most of it I can’t even comprehend because he’s such a great athlete. It’s fun to watch.”‘
Bills’ Kelsay Out Sunday, McGee Probable
‘Without Kelsay practicing, Arthur Moats was moved back over the the outside linebacker group on Friday. Gailey said it will depend on the Eagles’ personnel as to who would be lining up at the vacant LOLB spot on the defense, but right out of the gate he believes second-year player Danny Batten will get the start. He does expect Spencer Johnson and Arthur Moats to rotate in as well.’
5 Things to Watch in Bills-Eagles
‘Eagles 33, Bills 24.’
Vick will be tough to handle
‘”More than anything, it’s getting in his face and trying to keep him in the pocket,” says Bills Defensive Tackle Kyle Williams. “Because when he makes his big plays, he gets out of the pocket, throws the ball downfield. He’ll scramble this way; he’ll throw the back across this way, 60-yards down the field.”‘
Goodell in town for Bills-Eagles
‘NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is coming for the Bills-Eagles matchup. He’ll meet with a select group of 100-Bills season ticket holders in the stadium Sunday morning and he’ll watch the game from the stands, sitting with some friends.’
