‘Through five weeks the Buffalo defense has reeled in 12 interceptions, already one better than last year’s season total of 11. ‘”We felt like we were bigger and more physical at the line,” Jackson said. “We felt like we’d be able to move them off the ball and the offensive line did a great job of doing that.”‘

‘George Wilson had the game of his life with 11 tackles (1 for a loss). 3 pass breakups, a quarterback hit and an interception. Jairus Byrd was great with 8 tackles, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery.’

‘”We had the fans rowdy,” Jackson said. “We were playing to them, and I think you can’t help but get a guy rowdy thinking he’s got to a get a good jump on the ball to keep from getting moved off the ball like they were doing all day.”‘

‘They’re talking about playoffs and they aren’t kidding. Playoffs?’

‘”I don’t mind flying under the radar a little bit,” said Bills linebacker Shawne Merriman, who remembers the weight of expectation from his years in San Diego. “I’ve been in the opposite situation before and it hasn’t turned out so well.”‘

‘”I think after losing to Cincinnati last week, everyone had us pegged at three-and-two. Everyone was like ‘Oh, they lucked out in the first few games,” said Fitzpatrick, who completed 21 of 27 passes for 193 yards and one interception. “We think we’ve got a great team and we try to show that every Sunday.”‘

‘”I hope Mr. Wilson is going to be around for a long time, and he’s been a great owner. He has what he thinks are the right steps for the team, and we will work with him and the team to fulfill his wishes and do what’s in the best interest of this community and the team. It’s being taken care of.”‘
