‘Like it or not, the stigma of ‘franchise quarterback’ is now etched on to Fitzpatrick’s uniform like the number-14 seen on the field week in and out. It was always his team and his locker room. Now it’s his face used to sell the fans on being a contender in the NFL for many years to come. Will he wilt under the pressure or will he take his game to another level? That’s something that only time will answer.’

Fitzpatrick locked up to long term deal
‘”Buffalo’s been a really positive experience for me and my family,” Fitzpatrick says. “Since Chan has been here, I’ve grown so much as a player, not only the stuff on the field. In the meeting room, interacting with guys, game planning and coming up with ways to attack defenses–that’s been a real positive for me. I feel like our relationship has been key, and that’s just going to continue to grow and get better.”‘
Fitzpatrick now face of Bills franchise
‘”Ryan is a leader,” said Bills GM Buddy Nix. “He’s got all the intangibles you want in a quarterback and he’s got a good arm and a quick release. You put him with Chan Gailey and you’ve got a pretty good combination there and we thought that all along really.”‘
Kelly happy to see another franchise QB
‘”I’m extremely happy for Ryan and his family,” Kelly told Buffalobills.com in the wake of Fitzpatrick’s contract extension. “He’s earned that right to move on to the next level of quarterbacks in this league.”‘
After Fitz, who’s next?
‘It’s a question that came to mind for most Bills fans not long after it was announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick was locked up long term with a new contract extension late Friday afternoon. Who will be the next Bills player signed for the foreseeable future?’
