‘The Bills, thriving on converting turnovers into points this season, were victimized by two Corey Webster interceptions – the second of which set up the game-winning drive.’

‘I think Chan Gailey did a good job with the offense. The deep throws were there, they were just poorly thrown. You can’t blame him for calling them. The defense was better in the second half and Manning didn’t get over 300 yards. I thought George Edwards blitzed enough, but no one could get through. The Bills need to work on their pass rush in the bye week. Grade: B-‘

‘His team had been outplayed and out-gained and probably shouldn’t have still had a shot to defeat the New York Giants late in the fourth quarter Sunday afternoon at Met Life Stadium. Yet, when Fitzpatrick took the snap from the Giants 27-yard line with 4:10 remaining in a game tied 24-24, it was almost as if his Harvard education briefly abandoned him.’

‘”Personally, as a fan, I hate it. It’s not safe, number one,” Jones said. And “as a guy who went to Harvard, he should be smart enough to know not to do that.”‘

‘”The two interceptions I threw, you couldn’t ask for a better coverage, couldn’t ask for a better play, couldn’t ask for a better route,” Fitzpatrick said. “They were both the exact same thing with Stevie [Johnson] on a go route. I want to give credit to Corey Webster. He made plays on both of them. That being said, I feel Stevie beat him and I underthrew both of them . . . on both chances I would have said we’ll win 100 percent of the time. And it didn’t happen today and it’s something I’ll have to live with and work on and all that, but it’s tough to look all the other guys in the face, but that’s what you have to do as a quarterback and a leader and you have to be able to move on from that.”‘

‘So, Fewell reasoned, if his normally hard-charging pass rushers couldn’t bring down the Bills quarterback, they knew they would have to get their hands up and make sure he couldn’t get the ball over them.’

‘”It sucks,” Fitzpatrick said. “This is one of the hardest parts about playing quarterback, when you don’t get the job done. And today I didn’t get the job done.”‘

‘We gave up too many big plays at that, whether it was clutch situations or whether it was just down the field big plays and you can’t do that. And we had some penalties that hurt us on some of those drives and you can’t do that, either. We had chances to win the ballgame and we didn’t do that. And we had been doing that, but we didn’t do that today.’

‘”We’ve got to get in his face, or at least put him on the spot, and we didn’t do that,” Bills defensive end Dwan Edwards said in reference to Manning. “If you give him time, he’s going to pick any defense apart.”‘

‘”It was difficult to leave there,” he said. “They were great teammates and great guys. I still keep in touch with a lot of them. Jacksonville, I could just tell they wanted me a lot more. I wanted to be part of this team and this organization.”‘

‘Ryan Fitzpatrick had 244 yards through the air and two touchdowns on 21-of-30 passing for Buffalo (4-2), but was picked off twice by Corey Webster.’

‘The Bills had a chance to take the lead late in the game, but Fitzpatrick threw an interception to Corey Webster. To make matters worse, Stevie Johnson hauled him down by his facemask, which resulted in the Giants getting an additional 15-yards.’
