‘Vick is the fastest, most elusive quarterback in the league. Receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin are one of the top speed receiving duos in the league. LeSean McCoy is one of the best dual-threat rushing and receiving backs in the league.’

Eagles prey on big play, so Bills must protect their house
‘Bills 31, Eagles 28.’
Vick the prototype for Davis’ ideal type of player
‘Vick would have been perfect for Davis. He was a dynamic, strong-armed quarterback — a lefty, like Ken Stabler! — who defied NFL conventions and had the talent to make a big play at any moment. Vick was a volatile, flawed entertainment, like the Raiders, but you couldn’t take your eyes off him, because you never knew what he might do next.’
Davis led the fight for football’s merger
‘When the news of Gogolak’s signing broke, Bills owner Ralph Wilson was in Davis’ New York office. Wilson was furious over the signing of Gogolak. “Ralph, don’t be angry,” said Davis. “They just gave us the merger.” Al was no longer just a warrior in this fight, he was the War Lord.’
Buffalo Bills aware of Philadelphia Eagles’ anger
‘”We’re both angry and that’s going to make for a great game,” he said. “We feel like we should’ve won (last week in Cincinnati). They’re supposedly the dream team and feel like they should be undefeated right now, so they’re ticked off and we’re ticked off. It’s going to be great for the fans and it’s going to be great for the NFL.”‘
Hairston to make first NFL start
‘”Their pass rush is extremely good. We feel like it’s going to be a challenge for our offensive line with Chris at left tackle, a new left tackle, facing a group like this,” Gailey said Wednesday of Philly’s defense which has 15 sacks so far this season. “It’s going to be a challenge for our guys because you can’t just sit there and run the football. You have to throw the football.”‘
Bills offense has played role of bully against weaker defenses
‘”It’s just tackling for them,” Buffalo coach Chan Gailey explained as the reasoning as to why Philadelphia gives up the big play so often. “Really, they miss tackles. That’s what’s happened to them. They’ve got people in the right spots, they’re just missing the tackles. They’ve given up some big plays because of it. There’s nothing wrong with them fundamentally at all.”‘
Buffalo and its QB both unlikely upstarts in NFL
‘In three years, Fitzpatrick has gone from journeyman backup and pride of Harvard University — athletically speaking — to … Peyton Manning?’

Eagles done dreaming in facing Bills
‘The Bills’ revamped defense is experiencing some familiar problems. Though second in the league with 11 takeaways, Buffalo’s allowed 450 yards offense in each of its last three games. That finally caught up with the Bills against the Bengals, who scored 20 points on four of their final five possessions.’
Sal’s First Quarter Bills Report Card
‘Twice, Chan Gailey and his assistants made the right adjustments and found a way to come back and win games they were down big. Another game (KC), they were far more prepared than their opponent. That’s all great, but they were also out-coached and out-adjusted at the half in Cincinnati and Oakland and New England came into Orchard Park better prepared to start the game than the Bills did. So, out of the eight halves of football the Bills have played, I’d say they outcoached their opponents in five of them. All that being said, the true mark of coaching in the NFL is getting the most out of the talent you have on your roster. And I don’t think many would argue the Bills coaches have done a good job of that overall so far.’
