‘”One of the things coming in was giving (the fans in Toronto) something to cheer about. I thought we did that today. There was some excitement … I think there was more excitement out there today than there has been in years past.”‘

Chan Gailey Might Be NFL Coach of the Year
‘There are so many things to like about Gailey does with this team, but what i enjoy most is seeing a Bills coach who is totally on top of situations in the game. Chan rarely makes errors with the clock or with challenges. He never appears to be confused or flustered. Gailey is one of the great play callers in the game, making a bunch of no names and nobodies look like Pro Bowl players. Maybe more importantly Chan seems to have a great feel for his team. That is shown in the fact that they have played seven times this season and have not had a single flat performance, something rarely of ever seen in today’s NFL.’
Defense Surprises With Dominating Performance
‘Ryan Fitzpatrick Grade B+: Good performance coming off of big new contract.’
Bills Shutout Redskins 23-0
Dareus dominates
‘”He was awesome,” said Chris Kelsay. “He did an unbelievable job. He made the plays that needed to be made. He’s a force to be reckoned with and he’s got a number of years ahead of playing like that and we’re fortunate that he’s on our side.”‘
Bills fans warming up to Toronto
;"There’s more of us. We’re starting to come out of the woodwork this season now that they’re doing a little bit better," Bills fan Mike McNamara of Toronto said before the game, referring to his Buffalo-loving Canadian counterparts.’
Bills’ sack attack overwhelms Redskins
‘"Once you feed those piranhas they want some more food," linebacker Nick Barnett said. "So the guys got some sacks, and we wanted to keep coming with the pressure. Our front seven just got after them up there against the run and the pass."’
Bills’ Jackson makes ‘Skins pay a price for blitzing
‘Washington relies heavily on the blitz but brought the heat only 40 percent of the time on Sunday out of respect for Jackson and he still managed to gain 120 yards on 26 carries. Blitzes also allow for defenses to get burned on screens and Jackson was the third leading receiver with three catches for 74 yards, including a long of 46 yards.’
Change of home venue presents no problem
‘In the end, it didn’t matter where they played the game. They could have faced off on the Peace Bridge, with the U.S.-Canada border as the 50-yard line. They could have played it in Ryan Fitzpatrick’s back yard, or the front lawn of the White House.’
Chandler earns share of team TE record with sixth TD of season
‘”Records are always good things,” the 6-foot-7, 263-pound Chandler said. “It’s exciting to be able to contribute and when our team is winning it’s always exciting to be a guy who’s helping the team do well.”‘
Quarterly report
‘The Rogers Centre fans deserved a fun game and got it. But they could have helped the Bills’ offense out a bit midway through the quarter. The Bills were in Redskins territory, and the crowd had a wave going around the stadium. The scoreboard read “Quiet please, Bills at work” but the fans were having too much fun to stop.’
A complete game earns high marks
‘Edwards made wise move, putting Dareus on the nose. Used blitzes at opportune times. Gailey called bomb to Spiller at the perfect moment.’
Bills sack Washington, take AFC East lead
‘The Bills made a bevy of big plays and, as they have all season, played an exciting brand of football that may go a long way toward converting some of these Canadians into true Bills fans, which is the ultimate goal of the Bills Toronto Series.’
Buffalo Bills are making a believer out of Sal
‘What I found so impressive about Buffalo’s 23-0 dismantling of the wretched Redskins Sunday afternoon at Rogers Centre was that the Bills knew they were playing a beat up, inferior opponent, but they avoided playing down to their level.’
Sal’s Six Points: The Answers
‘Is this the day the Bills’ defense finally looks good? Wow, how about that for a breakout?’
