‘”It’s always good to win a game, and I tell you what, what is hard for me to figure out is how we can win these games when we started out with no players,” Wilson said with a hearty laugh. “Our drafts in the last 10 years have been terrible. So I mean, these guys, before each play you read the scorecard to see who’s in there. That’s what amazes me. We pick up a guy in the middle of the week and he starts on Sunday.”‘

Bills’ defense earns highest grade of season
‘Coaching: A: Told players they were a much better team than the one that lost to Dolphins in opener, and backed it up with a solid game plan.’
Former Florida Gator David Nelson making his mark as a Buffalo Bills receiver
‘Nelson (6-foot-5, 212 pounds) is part of a young, emerging set of receivers in Buffalo. With leading receiver Lee Evans placed on injured reserve last week because of an ankle injury and Roscoe Parrish’s season ending after eight games, the Bills’ top four receivers Sunday consisted of three rookies – all undrafted free agents – and Steve Johnson, who is in his third year.’

Resurgent Bills beat Dolphins 17-14
‘Miami (7-7) is 1-6 at home and 6-1 on the road. No NFL team has ever had such a disparity, according to STATS LLC.’
Jones to start for Dolphins vs Bills
‘Bills tackle Demetrius Bell (knee), cornerback Drayton Florence (fibula), linebacker Chris Kelsay (knee) and guard Andy Levitre (knee) were all active after being on the injury report during the week.’
Buffalo 17, Miami 14
‘Miami’s Dan Carpenter missed four field goals, including a 48-yarder that could have tied the game with under two minutes left in regulation.’
Bills beat Dolphins 17-14
‘The Bills were the first to strike in the second half, after Steve Johnson caught a 15-yard TD pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick at 6:20 in the third quarter.’
Reaction: Bills 17 – Dolphins 14
‘If you’re not thoroughly on board with the job that Chan Gailey has done this season, especially in the second half of the year, then what more do you want?’
Too bad it’s no longer like Marino vs Kelly
‘I sat here this afternoon yawning and trying to figure out how this big rivalry ended. I think the Bills have been irrelevant for so long, nobody cared. There were many empty seats in Miami. Rivals sell out stadiums.’
Immediate Reactions: Bills 17, Dolphins 14
‘This was a game where the Bills runners and battered offensive line allowed Miami to only worry about Fitz passing, and he did fine, posting 223 yards, two scores and a pick. He also rushed thrice for 19 yards. Yes, there’s a chance this season could be his Derek Anderson anomaly – especially given Fitz’s middling completion percentage – but I want this defense shored up first and foremost. Let the flaming begin.’
Bills No Longer Woeful AFC East Member
‘With four wins now, the Bills can just about forget about a top two pick and qb Andrew Luck, but even with the play of Fitzpatrick, or maybe because of it, the more I ponder it, the more I think NOW is the time for the Bills to take their qb of the future. Ryan Mallett and Jake Locker are as close to “can’t miss” as they’ll get a shot at assuming they improve some next season, and while the Cam Newton thing is intriguing for sure, I’m not convinced it’s worth it to gamble a top 5 pick on him.’
Bills squish the Fish to continue their late-season roll
‘Hey, four out of six isn’t bad. If they could somehow upset Tom Brady and his Patriots this Sunday at the Ralph that would really be something to shout about.’
Bills Hold On To Beat Miami 17-14
Dan Carpenter missed 4 fieldgoals for Miami including a 48 yarder late in the 4th quarter to allow the Bills to hold on for a 17-14 win. The loss ends Miami’s postseason hopes. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw touchdown passes to David Nelson and Stevie Johnson and finished with 223 yards passing. The Bills opened up a 10 point lead before Miami tried to rally in the fourth quarter. They got the ball back in the final seconds but couldn’t get past their 35 yard line. The defense held Miami’s rushing attack to just 65 yards.
Bills hang on to dispose of Dolphins
‘The Bills got some help from Dolphins kicker Dan Carpenter who missed all four of his field goal attempts in the game from 48, 61, 53 and 48 yards.’
