‘I’m all for watching the core of starters continue to progress, and then try and assess who can stay and who can go once the season is done with.’

The faith behind football
‘Among those joining them on the stage at the center’s Alan Forbes Theatre were linebacker Reggie Torbor, his wife, Britney and their 4-year-old son, Reggie Jr.; tight end Jonathan Stupar; nose tackle Kyle Williams; and safety Bryan Scott and his wife, Quiana.’
Buffalo Bills’ Dwan Edwards feeling better after win
‘"The film doesn’t lie," Edwards said. "When you watch film with your teammates, you see the stuff that’s kind of standing out and teams are getting us on. We’re doing the best we can to try to get those things corrected. Guys are playing hard with a lot of effort and our defense has been better the last few weeks."’
Bills better at keeping drives alive
‘"We were so bad at the beginning of the year on third downs, and Chan [Gailey] challenged us," Fitzpatrick said. "He made a point of emphasis, and said, ‘You have to be able to convert on third down to keep the offense on the field, to keep drives going, to change field position, to put yourself in scoring position.’ So it was just a challenge he gave us, and it’s something we’ve really focused on."’
Caulcrick gets the call to Bills’ active roster
‘Caulcrick, 6-foot-0 and 260 pounds, joined the Bills’ practice squad after being released by the San Francisco 49ers on Nov. 8. The move was precipitated by injuries to the Bills’ backfield. Rookie C.J. Spiller is out for Sunday’s game at Cincinnati due to a sore hamstring. Fullback Corey McIntyre has a sore ankle and was able to practice Friday on a limited basis. McIntyre is questionable for the Bengals game.’
Dream Come True
‘”After practice today, Coach (Chan) Gailey wanted to see me and he told me what the circumstances were with injuries and he was going to promote me to the 53-man roster,” Caulcrick told The Post-Journal later in the afternoon. “I’ll have an opportunity to play fullback and tailback. It’s a good opportunity ahead of me.”

Cheer for the underdog, from Buffalo to Kandahar
‘So here’s to America’s New Team, at least for this week, at least for as long as they do it the American way, fighting to the end, never quitting, until finally, at long last, they triumph. I hope they keep it up, and I hope they run the table for the rest of the season.’
FB Caulcrick elevated to active roster
‘”It’s definitely a dream come true,” said Caulcrick. “Back in high school playing in this stadium here I never imagined myself being in the locker room here being in front of the team so I’m definitely excited about this.”‘
Williams questionable for Sunday
‘One of Buffalo’s top three tacklers on defense is questionable for Sunday’s game at Cincinnati. Defensive tackle Kyle Williams was given the 50-50 designation along with FB Corey McIntyre and OL Cordaro Howard after Friday’s practice by head coach Chan Gailey.’
Bills DT Williams questionable for Bengals game
‘Williams is nursing a hamstring injury sustained Wednesday in practice. He has returned Friday after missing Thursday’s practice.’
Run game weather is here
‘The guys up front look like they’re turning a corner too as a unit. When you come into a new system like they did this season the blocking can be different. The philosophy and the coaching can be different too whether it’s how you’re blocking the linebackers and the angles that you take. All coaches are different, so it usually takes a little time.’
Gameday Tipsheet – Week 11
‘Cincinnati is second to last in the league in sacks with just nine in nine games. Not having top pass rusher Antwan Odom again this week will not help despite the fact that he’s now off suspension. Provided Buffalo’s ground game is effective enough to keep the defense honest, Ryan Fitzpatrick should have time to hit his receivers and move the ball consistently.’
Buffalo Bills return to skills of Leodis McKelvin
‘"I knew when they drafted C.J. that it would be a possibility I wouldn’t be returning kicks," he said. "I felt they wanted me to concentrate on defense. They wanted me to progress as a defensive player."’
Carolina Panthers more likely than Buffalo Bills to get top pick
‘Carolina and Buffalo both have 1-8 records, but the Panthers are in much worse shape. They’ll be without their top three running backs and Brian St. Pierre will start at quarterback Sunday against Baltimore.’
