‘On September 10, Mitchell was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury that he suffered in practice.’

Bills CB McGee ruled out for Sunday
‘Leodis McKelvin is expected to start in McGee’s place.’
Bills CB McGee likely to miss Jets game
‘If McGee can’t play, the suddenly banged-up Bills defense will be without three starters. Defensive end Marcus Stroud (left ankle) and linebacker Andra Davis (shoulder) already have been ruled out.’
Bills reach injury settlement with LB Mitchell
‘Mitchell was placed on injured reserve prior to the Bills’ season opener against Miami after he hurt his foot in practice.’
McGee out for Sunday as well
‘The soreness stems from knee surgery following the Bills Week 8 game against Houston. McGee suffered the injury in Week 4 at Miami, but played for a month on the injured knee waiting until the bye week to get it taken care of.’
Bills add OL to practice squad
‘The Bills made a change to their practice squad Friday afternoon, adding offensive lineman Mansfield Wrotto. The four-year NFL veteran was most recently with the Seattle Seahawks on the club’s 53-man roster and appeared in two games thus far this season.’
Bills part ways with LB Mitchell
‘"Going into this year looking at our linebacker corps we looked deep," said Paul Posluszny. "We had a lot of guys and unfortunately he gets banged up early and now he’s not with us anymore. So it’s a tough situation any time it happens, but especially with a guy like him that we all respected. He meant a ton to all of us.”‘
Buffalo Bills feeling urgency on defense
‘Defensive coordinator George Edwards has thrown all kinds of looks at teams, rushing different combinations of players, and playing a lot of base four-man fronts. But the results aren’t there yet.’
Bills don’t want to be run into ground
‘"Stopping the run is our major point of emphasis as a defense this week," inside linebacker Paul Posluszny said. "They’re an excellent running team with a good, physical offensive line and two fullbacks who can block and two excellent running backs that run really hard."’
McGee joins Bills’ list of walking wounded
‘Gailey said McGee has some residual soreness from an offseason knee problem.’
Assistants receive Hall recognition through head coaches
‘ How do you put one of these guys in the Hall of Fame ahead of some very fine long-tenured head coaches who aren’t in the Hall of Fame? Chuck Knox, Jimmy Johnson and Don Coryell are three examples. Knox won 186 games (ninth best all-time) and rebuilt three different teams into division winners. He never got to a Super Bowl. Jimmy Johnson built one of the greatest teams of all time, the ’90s Cowboys. I think he’s Hall-worthy. , but I don’t think it will happen. Too many voters count his lack of huge success in Miami against him. It’s hard to put an assistant ahead of those two, in my view, or a bunch of other good head coaches. Then there’s Don Coryell, who was a finalist last year and who unquestionably ranks ahead of any assistant. Carson and Arnsparger contributed greatly to the Hall inductions of Noll and Shula, respectively. That’s their reward, as far as Hall recognition is concerned.’
