‘Kelsay is hardly a Pro Bowler. Even if the Bills had been to the last four Super Bowls, he isn’t the type of player that would one day have his named etched on the Wall of Fame. He is, however, the type of player that blue-collar football fans like to identify with, and if his team had inspired a few talkin’ proud moments over the years, Kelsay would be as popular with fans as he is inside the locker room.’

‘”We were a bad football team,” said Chan Gailey, Bills head coach. “We couldn’t protect, or catch. We had people going in the wrong spots, we couldn’t convert a third down. We turned the ball over twice and couldn’t get any turnovers. You play that way you are not only going to lose you are not going to look decent.”‘

‘LaDainian Tomlinson had his best game in nearly two years, rushing for 133 yards and two touchdowns to lead the New York Jets to a 38-14 victory over the winless Buffalo Bills on Sunday.’

‘Edgerson led the team with six interceptions in 1962 as a rookie, and is tied for seventh on the Bills’ all-time interceptions list with 23.’

‘Tomlinson passed Dorsett with a 5-yard run at the end of the first quarter in the Jets game at the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Tomlinson entered the game with 12,698 yards rushing, and needed only 42 to pass Dorsett. He finished the first half with 89 yards rushing in helping the Jets to a 17-7 lead.’

‘”The Bills have been perfect,” said Johnson a few hours before Buffalo hosted the New York Jets. “They told me that they didn’t want me to go anywhere, and to stay right here. We had a good conversation and resolved the issues of the parking and stuff like that.”‘

‘The Bills were missing three starters on defense-defensive end Marcus Stroud (left ankle), linebacker Andra Davis (shoulder) and cornerback Terrence McGee (knee)-but welcomed back inside linebacker Paul Posluszny, who had missed the past two games because of a sprained right knee.’

‘The Jets racked up 273 yards on the ground and turned a 17-7 game at halftime into a laugher with 21 third-quarter points, beating the Bills for the fourth time in the last five meetings. Dustin Keller had two touchdown receptions in a span of just over 90 seconds during the third-quarter burst.’

‘LaDanian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene combined to rush for 250 yards to send the Bills to an 0-4 start.’

‘To say that the Bills run defense was bad, would be the understatement of the year. Yet again, Buffalo exhibited that they are nowhere near to being the type of defense they set out to be. I don’t think it would matter if they base their defense out of the 3-4 or the 4-3, simply put, the Bills don’t have defensive playmakers to stop the run in the backfield. Heck, they don’t even have players to stop the run five yards down the field. LaDainian Tomlinson gained 133 yards on 19 carries. Shonn Greene tallied 117 yards on 22 carries. Combined, they averaged 6.1 yards per carry. Another sterling day for the Bills run defense.’
