‘It’s a tough time for a bye. Now the Bills have two weeks to think about their place in history. And this team has historic possibilities, believe me. On Sunday, they gave up 30 points for a fourth straight game. That’s a first in team history.’

We’re walking on sunshine: The power of positive denial
‘The stadium was practically empty with three minutes remaining. It enabled fans to hightail out of One Bills Drive in a jiffy.’
Quarterly report: Momentum swings
‘In five games the Bills have given up 24 catches to tight ends for 339 yards and five touchdowns.’
Bills report card: Coaches downgraded
‘Starting to wonder if Edwards might be in over his head as defensive coordinator. Is he giving up on 3-4? DeHaven’s kickoff coverage team is struggling.’
Can Bills run the table and go 0-16?
‘”Where’s the frustration level? I don’t know if I like that word, frustration level. I think searching is a better word. We’re searching greatly for what the right answer is,” Chan Gailey said, who shared Fitzpatrick’s bewildered look. “You look at it and you try to evaluate what your guys are doing and put them in a position to be successful and take them out of positions where they can’t be successful. But you can’t take them out of every position. At some point they’ve got to step up and fight through and whip the guy in front of them.”‘
Jaguars send Bills to 0-5
‘”The coaches are putting us in the right coverage and the right things to stop what they’re doing and were not stopping them,” said Donte Whitner, Bills safety, who finished with a team-high 10 tackles. “As players we have to go out there and execute better.”‘
Bills may need to do some soul searching
‘When Jackson was asked if he felt the running game was working, Jackson channeled his inner Terrell Owens, saying “I don’t know. My job is to go out and execute whatever is called.”‘

TE Lewis scores 2 in Jaguars 36-26 win
‘The Bills squandered 10-0 and 13-3 leads, and are 0-5 for only the fourth time in franchise history, the first since 1985. Buffalo has allowed 30 points in four straight games for the first time.’
Jaguars without 2 starters on defense at Bills
‘Starting cornerback Terrence McGee (leg/knee), linebacker Keith Ellison (knee), and safety Bryan Scott (knee) were all inactive for the Bills.’
Jacksonville 36, Buffalo 26
‘Garrard completed 16-of-20 passes and was intercepted once, and threw two of his touchdown passes to Marcedes Lewis. Maurice Jones-Drew ran for 84 yards in the win, the second in a row for the Jaguars (3-2), who beat Indianapolis last week thanks to a 59-yard field goal by Scobee.’
Jacksonville Defeats Bills 36-26
‘Fitzpatrick had a solid game for the Bills, as he completed 20 of his 30 passes for 220 yards and scored three touchdowns in the loss. Lee Evans was the team leader in receptions with five catches for 87 yards and a touchdown, while F red Jackson led the team on the ground with 73 yards on 12 carries.’
Reaction: Jaguars 36 – Bills 26
‘Buffalo allowed 216 yards on 40 carries, with a 5.4 yard per carry average. Marcus Stroud flailed at the ball carrier and whiffed on one occasion, Donte Whitner never took the right angle and the Bills just couldn’t get a handle on the same wide receiver reverse play to Mike Thomas three separate times. Another atrocious effort in this one for that unit.’
And Jackson wasn’t used why?
‘In today’s loss to Jacksonville, Jackson averaged 6.1 yards per carry, but he only got the ball 12 times. It just boggles my mind why Gailey is so hesitant to ride the hot hand. Would it produce a victory? I have no idea, but Ryan Fitzpatrick was his usual self throwing the ball very well at times and missing wide open receivers at key times.’
