‘”There is no foul for calling a second timeout in the rulebook. We shouldn’t have granted it. We shouldn’t have shut the play down. But, there is no penalty. There is no 5-yard penalty for what we did. [The procedure is to] get the players reset, the second time out is not allowed, resume play, which is what we did.”‘

Bills Postgame Quotes
‘Yeah, it still hurts. Every guy in that locker room hurts right now because we felt like throughout the whole course of the game, we had a chance. We had a chance to win and we came up short. You know, you can look at that, we put up points and the offense played better today, but that’s not what it’s about; it’s about winning. And that’s all those guys in the locker room want to do.’

Brady throws for 3 TDs, Pats beat Bills 38-30
‘First-round draft pick C.J. Spiller scored his first NFL touchdowns on a 5-yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick and a 95-yard kickoff return. But Buffalo’s last chance faded when Fitzpatrick threw an interception to Brandon Meriweather with 3 minutes left.’
New England 38, Buffalo 30
‘Ryan Fitzpatrick was 20-of-28 for 247 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for the Bills (0-3), who have lost the season’s first three games for the first time since 2007.’
Patriots Top Bills 38-30 in Foxboro
‘C.J. Spiller showcased his explosiveness, as the running back ran four times for 29 yards and also caught 3 passes for 10 yards and a touchdown. Spiller also racked up 189 return yards, including a 95-yard punt return. Marshawn Lynch led the team in rushing yards, as he ran 13 times for 79 yards.’
The bad Fitzpatrick arrived in the 4th
‘What wasn’t fun was watching number one picks like Donte Whitner and Aaron Maybin embarrass themselves on the field. You can thrown number one pick John McCargo in there too as he isn’t even good enough to dress on a defense that has gotten blasted for 72 points in two weeks. Whitner was suppose to give help to Reggie Corner on Randy Moss and Whitner was so slow, he didn’t get close to Moss who caught a 35 yard touchdown. Whitner has been tweeting since training camp about all the big plays he’s going to make. It might be nice if the 8th overall pick could make an average play. Maybin couldn’t even break the plane of the line of scrimmage with more playing time. It would’ve been nice if Dick Jauron would’ve stayed out of the draft taking players he’s never seen before, but when you have no GM in the room, who’s to stop the most clueless man in the room from taking a guy like Maybin when guys like Cushing, Matthews, Oher and Orakpo are there.’
Reaction: Patriots 38 – Bills 30
‘One thing I don’t understand for the life of me is the execution of the plays on the Bills’ final successful drive of the game. Head coach Chan Gailey elected to run the ball three times in a row with about eight minutes left on the clock. I would have been fine with that, but in between plays, the Bills showed no urgency and let the play clock roll down to single digits. That drive took quite literally two minutes longer than it should have if the Bills would have hurried to the line like they did the rest of the drive. That was a baffling decision to me.’
Immediate Reactions; Pats 38, Bills 30
‘The Bills had a nice mix of three tailbacks… they just had to face a Tom Brady-lead offense. Twenty-four carries at 5.6 yards-per-carry is going to do your team right most weeks, and Fitz’s two picks cost them the game. That said, Fitz identified what the Bills need under center. Edwards’ skill with Fitzpatrick’s guts.’
Bills May Be Bad – But Not Boring
‘A week ago, I wrote here that the Bills were especially disappointing because they were not only bad, but they were boring, which would soon hit them at the box office. This week, they were anything BUT boring, and like many Bills fans, and even journalists, I’m now actually curious to see what happens when the Jets come to the Ralph. Imagine that!’
Pats Knock Off Bills 38-30
‘Everyone knew the Bills would lose in New England at least it was an entertaining game. The Bills made it interesting and fans had a chance to wonder in what excruciating way were they going to lose in Gillette Stadium this time. At least we didn’t have to go through that as the Patriots took over the game in the fourth quarter. Another loss but at least there were signs of life. They say there are no moral victories in the NFL but if we don’t take those with the Bills what do we have?’
Defense Lets Bills Down
‘Ryan Fitzpatrick looked very good most of the game completing 20 of 28 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns. His two interceptions were killers. He moved around in the pocket well and wasn’t afraid to take a chance. Grade B+: The team at least knows they have a quarterback who can move the ball.’
Bills come up just short vs. Pats
‘In a game that saw five lead changes, the Bills hung with the Patriots for almost the entire game, but a pair of second half interceptions kept Buffalo from overtaking New England, giving the Patriots their 14th straight victory over Buffalo.’
Source: Bills dangling Trent Edwards
‘The Bills spoke to at least one team this week about a trade for the quarterback they benched in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick.’
It’s time to check out of Billsville
‘The team’s residency here is in all likelihood tied to the longevity of its 91-year-old owner. Unless something is happening that we do not know about, there is no plan of succession in place. So there is not much light on the horizon.’
