‘Gailey’s offense had a 4th-and-10 with 1:32 to go in the game from his own 1-yard line. It was an unenviable scenario caused by inept quarterbacking and line play, but choosing to snap a ball through the end zone for a safety was ludicrous. Seriously, what’s more likely: A 10-yard completion or a recovering an onside punt (if that’s even in the rule book, which I’m trusting it is)? The Bills traded two points, four minutes and the ability to tie the game with a field goal for 20 yards. It’s a genuinely numb-skulled decision, and it took most of the Gailey sails out of my wind.’
