‘Color me one of the folks who think it’s ridiculous to assume the Bills will finish 0-6 in the division. There are simply too many questions around the AFC East to believe it’s a certainty the Bills lose Week One and never leave the basement. Are Mark Sanchez and Chad Henne for real? Do the Patriots have anyone in the secondary? Obviously, they have less pressing questions than Buffalo, but let’s break down the division’s best by position.’

‘Coach Chan Gailey on Wednesday named Spiller his starter this weekend, when the Bills open the season by hosting Miami. Gailey based his decision on the dynamic spark Spiller showed through much of the preseason by leading the team in scoring with three touchdowns rushing.’

‘At 6-foot-5 and 256 pounds, Farr is an undrafted rookie out of Memphis who was released by the Dallas Cowboys last weekend. The moves Wednesday are the latest in a series of shuffles the Bills have made to address their injury- and suspension-depleted position.’

‘It may have taken a bit longer than anticipated, but the Bills finished filling out their eight-man practice squad Wednesday morning signing free agent tight end Dajleon Farr.’

‘”They just came calling right away and it was the right situation,” Martin said of his signing last weekend. “Talking to them I’m here to play ball and I know this division pretty well, so it’s a good opportunity for me to try to help this team win.”‘

‘But Jones rose above the competition because of his strong play on special teams. His ability to use that solidly-built 6-foot, 214-pound frame didn’t didn’t hurt either, especially since big receivers are appealing to Gailey.’

‘A regular-season "home" game, drab as it was, against the Dolphins has been played in Toronto. Especially if the NFL goes to 18 games, I would just as soon make sure the Bills play Cleveland and Pittsburgh every year.’
