‘Carrington’s deal is believed to be worth about $2.6 million overall and will include a bonus of roughly $870,000.’

Hearing on Bills shuttle draws one only person
‘Since 2008, the shuttle program has run at an average deficit of $17,889. That year, the NFTA was forced to lower fare charges from $7 round trip to normal Metro Bus fares to comply with Federal Transit Administration guidelines. Since 2007, the program has averaged 1,500 customers per season.’
Bills sign third round draft pick Carrington
‘Carrington was selected in the third round, 72nd overall, of this year’s draft out of Arkansas State. The 6-foot-5 295-pounder registered 21 1/2 career sacks, which was good for second in school history.’
Bills sign DE Alex Carrington
‘The third-round draft pick out of Arkansas State signed a four-year deal with Buffalo on Monday, a little over a week before the team will open camp in suburban Rochester on July 29.’
Bills sign Carrington
‘”I’m blessed,” Carrington told Buffalobills.com. “My agent, Roosevelt Barnes, did a great job. I wasn’t rushing him. I just wanted to get it done before camp obviously. I’m glad we’ve got it sealed off and glad to be official now.”‘
Who will line up next to Poz?
‘”He’s been huge so far and it’s going to continue to be that way throughout the course of the year because he has experience in this defense,” Posluszny said. “Any time you can get a guy like that in your locker room it helps team chemistry and also just helping out younger guys to learn a new system.”‘
Will the 3-4 mean better run defense?
‘”If you look at the trend that’s gone on in the league, if you get the right guys in and play it right it seems like we should be able to stop the run and make more plays,” said Paul Posluszny.’
Who will be the starting strong safety?
‘”I think just getting acclimated to being in more of a backpedal than just a lateral run. Just gauging the speed of the receivers now and learning when to turn your hips and go,” he said during rookie minicamp. “Learning those things, I felt better as the day went on. It’s something I’ll feel more and more comfortable with as we progress here.”‘
Will special teams have a different approach?
‘”I think subtle changes are what you can expect,” said DeHaven. “I don’t think your personality changes and I’ve always believed in working from the part to the whole and start simple, be fundamentally sound. I’m probably a little more conservative in my approach than some special team coaches. You’re probably not going to see a whole lot of onsides kicks and wild reverses and fakes and that kind of thing as you would some other coaches in the league.”‘
Inside slant
‘Quarterback Trent Edwards: The one-time rising star who lost his starting job a year ago is feeling rejuvenated under new coach Chan Gailey, a noted QB doctor. If he can’t win the job from Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm under Gailey’s tutelage and make the most of this opportunity, it will be time to put that Stanford degree to work.’
Strategy and personnel
‘After an offseason of watching third-year pro Demetrius Bell, whose father is former NBA great Karl Malone, Gailey is convinced the former seventh-round pick out of Northwestern (La.) State can play at a very high level in the NFL.’
Notes, quotes
‘Team officials don’t expect a third consecutive season of topping the 50,000-mark in season-ticket sales. Last year’s total of 55,308 coupled with 2008’s total of 56,011 marked the first time in franchise history the team topped the 50,000-mark in consecutive years. "Season-ticket sales are pacing below where we were the last two years," Russ Brandon, Bills chief executive officer, confirmed. On a positive note, two home games (the opener vs. Miami on Sept. 12 and the Nov. 28 game vs. Pittsburgh) sold out on the first day individual game tickets went on sale. The Oct. 3 Jets game has limited seats left. Also, Brandon said that the pace of companies renewing luxury suites at Ralph Wilson Stadium is good.’
Bills QB situation as muddled as ever
‘Because of the uncertainty at quarterback, the Bills are considered a lock for the bottom of the AFC East. It is a division with three other teams that don’t have quarterback issues. The New England Patriots have Tom Brady, the New York Jets have Mark Sanchez and the Miami Dolphins have Chad Henne.’
NFL standout Terrence McGee gives back to Demons
‘"Northwestern State was a great experience for me on and off the field," said McGee, about to begin his eighth season in the NFL, all with Buffalo. "I’m excited to help out on the Fieldhouse project and look forward to working on more projects in the coming years."’
Ruben Brown still leading the way
He may be a former Bill, but Ruben Brown is still a big Buffalo booster. The Bills’ all-time great sat down with SkunkPost’s Allison Shorts to talk about his charity work, his foundation….and his passion for motorcycles.
