‘"There is only one place that I would even consider going to and that’s Houston because it’s so close to home and I know the defense and I know Bill [Kollar, the Texans’ defensive line coach who held the same job in Buffalo]," Schobel said. "But I don’t even know if I’d play in Houston at this point. I really wanted to finish my career in Buffalo."’

‘Gailey made it clear he’s open to meeting with Lynch, all Lynch has to do is make the first move. “Always. I’d like to meet with every player we’ve got. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don’t, that’s life,” Gailey said.’

‘So what could’ve ranged from a knee injury to a high-ankle sprain now appears to have been just a contusion. Wang has been spotted walking with only a slight limp. Gailey wouldn’t speculate on whether Wang was breathing a sigh of relief. “It’s a relief for us as coaches, though,” he said.’

‘The Bills held an open practice at Ralph Wilson Stadium on June 5 that drew 4,500 fans. Coach Chan Gailey liked the atmosphere but didn’t think it affected his team’s practice performance in any way. “That’s the way they practiced the whole time,” he said. “You’d like to make 40 big plays and 20 interceptions, but you don’t get that. I thought that they concentrated and it was good. To me, it was good for the guys to be out here and have the fans out here and it adds a little bit of spark to practice. That was good.”‘

‘"It definitely makes you bring out your best," Moats said of the NFL. "In college, in practices, you’re better than most of the guys you’re going against. Yeah, you (can) take some plays off in practice. Not at this level. Every play you have to be at full speed, your best rep. Otherwise you’re going to get embarrassed."’

‘Right now, it’s unlikely the Bills could get a third-round draft pick for their troubled former Pro Bowl participant … an irony since it was rumored that’s what was offered for him on the eve of the draft.’

‘”Everything is coming a lot easier to me,” he said. “The more reps I get and the more I study the easier it is when I get out there. I don’t have to think about it as much. As a quarterback it’s tough to go out there and perform well when you have to think about every little thing you’re doing. The more time I’m in the offense, the more comfortable I feel which is helping me out a lot.”‘

‘”He never told me one way or the other when Kyle Williams and I went down there early in the offseason to spend some time with him,” said Kelsay. “We didn’t spend a whole lot of time talking about football. I never really got a feeling one way or another. But knowing him as a person and being close friends with him and playing my entire career with him I know he’s a family man. He places a lot of his choices on what’s best for his family, but he still has that football mentality.”‘

‘Schobel said he has not spoken with the Bills in about two months and added he has no intention of attending the team’s mandatory minicamp, which opens in less than two weeks. He has spent his entire nine-year NFL career in Buffalo and, with 78 sacks, ranks rank second on the Bills behind only Bruce Smith.’

‘Buffalo has now signed five of its nine draft picks.’

‘The Bills completed the final two steps in getting the back half of their 2010 draft class under contract as sixth-round pick Arthur Moats and seventh-round pick Levi Brown both signed their rookie contracts Thursday morning at One Bills Drive.’

‘"A lot of people look at my numbers and say you didn’t have that productive of a career," Nelson said. "I look at it the opposite. We won two national championships, two SEC championships. ‘Coach Chan Gailey provided the update following practice Wednesday, shortly after Wang was spotted walking with only a slight limp entering the team’s training room. Gailey said Wang has a chance to return by the team’s final offseason minicamp, a three-day session opening on June 23.’

‘”His injury was not as serious as maybe we had first thought and it looks like he’s got a chance to be back by the first minicamp,” said Gailey. “It’s a relief for us as coaches. It was great.”‘

‘Two years ago, Wilson joined with teammate Brad Butler to form "That’s Life," a speakers series in which they visited schools to give students words of encouragement. After Butler retired, Wilson decided to change the format. He wanted to make it more personal, to create a more lasting impression outside the classroom.’
