Memorial Day’s honor belongs to fallen heroes like former Bills lineman Robert Kalsu
‘Kalsu’s decision to serve rather than seek a paperwork reprieve didn’t gain the banner headlines of Pat Tillman’s Army enlistment in 2002, a courageous and defiant response to Sept. 11 by the Arizona Cardinals safety. Neither did Kalsu’s death move the nation like Tillman’s accidental killing by friendly fire in Afghanistan. It is appropriate, though, on this Memorial Day, to fully honor the sacrifice of every fallen hero, giants all.’
