‘He will oversee the franchise’s pro personnel department as well as assist General Manager Buddy Nix in all football-related administrative duties and in the college talent evaluation process.’

The difference in winning and losing
‘Ralph Wilson is a blood-sucking leech who cares nothing for our community. He constantly heaps more and more burden on our shoulders knowing full well that we cannot withstand it.’
Bills double up on strength coaches
‘Gamble spent the last 16 years with the Miami Dolphins. The first 12 of those was as strength and conditioning coach. The last four were spent as director of player development, in which he assisted players’ needs off the field. Gamble was hired as a strength coach in Miami by Don Shula. He was the No. 1-ranked powerlifter in the world in the 275-pound class from 1981 to 1983. He was inducted into the U.S. Weightlifting Hall of Fame in 1999.’
Bills hire new strength coaches
‘This will be Ciano’s first foray into the NFL. He worked with Gailey as the strength coach at Georgia Tech for three years when Gailey was the head coach.’
Ciano and Gamble to head Bills strength and conditioning
‘”We decided to bring in two head strength and conditioning coaches to let them specialize in the specific areas each coach works in and we feel like we’ve hired two unbelievable people to run that department for us,” said Gailey. “The combination of these two guys is going to pay real dividends for our team.”‘
Arrington: Edwards will maximize Maybin’s strengths
‘”I just think that the way that George Edwards can coach and identify players’ strengths and weaknesses that he’ll have enough time to work with Aaron,” said Arrington. “Hopefully Aaron will be able to pick it up and know what it is that George is putting on his plate and help him transition to being a ‘tweener’ in terms of being a defensive end and an outside linebacker. Aaron needs to know how to be versatile either way. I think George will be able to show him and teach him and put him in a position where he can be successful.”‘
Schobel INT return voted Play of the Year
‘That play beat out Terrell Owens’ 98-yard touchdown catch from Ryan Fitzpatrick as Buffalo’s Play of the Year for 2009, winning by a relatively slim margin in a Bills fan online poll at Buffalobills.com.’
Reed still on HOF waiting list
‘”Every year I pull for Andre no matter who he’s up against,” Kelly told buffalobills.com. “That’s my boy. Hopefully each year one of these receivers will keep getting in to improve Andre’s chances by reducing the pool of receiver talent.”‘
Reed doesn’t make Hall of Fame cut
‘Reed was one of four receivers up for induction. Two of those receivers, Reed and Jerry Rice, made the cut-down to 10. Reed was eliminated in the vote down to five finalists.’
Crowd at receiver may hurt Bills’ Reed
‘Last month Woodson was asked the question: Since Rice is a slam dunk for induction, which of the other three receivers on the finalist list would he say is most worthy of induction? Woodson picked Reed. Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin also picked Reed in answer to the same question.’
Less is more for Tasker
‘"It is [CBS’] philosophy – and I kind of agree with it – there’s nothing that I can see down there on the sidelines – unless something happens out of the ordinary – that will add anything that [game analyst Phil Simms] can’t do from the booth. … They don’t need me adding fluff to the game."’
Reeds are ready, still waiting
‘Joyce, who exchanges text messages with her son regularly, said Andre is hosting a Super Bowl party in Syracuse, N.Y., this weekend and he doesn’t think today will be the day either. ”He still thinks it’s going to happen within the next two years, though,” Joyce said. ”He thinks its quite possible, but he knows it’s not up to him.”’
Copying of Steelers continues
‘If the Bills couldn’t hire Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert, then who better to steal away than Colbert’s right-hand man?’
Meet Gale Gilbert, the Forrest Gump of football
‘He was unfairly denied a chance to make real history. After Reich had thrown an interception that was returned for an Oilers score to make it a 32-point hole early in the third quarter, Bills coach Marv Levy told Gilbert to warm up because he was giving Reich just one more set of downs.’
Former Bills QB Reich tutors perhaps NFL’s best in Manning
‘”He’s a tireless worker. He’s a grinder. He’s a guy who’s going to be over there late at night. He and I text each other all the time. Hey, check out the Buffalo game, play No. 40. It’s a look we might see. I like that. I like a guy who’s constantly got football on his mind. I lean on Frank. I ask him a lot of questions.”‘
