‘For all the heat we deservedly give the Bills front office, how about a high-five for signing Fred Jackson to a four-year, $7.5 million extension this offseason. Maybe only a half high-five because there were rumours Fred would hold-out, but that’s not a lot of cheddar for a guy who’s looking like the Big Cheese.’

Bills Need Coach and QB, but Not RB
‘I don’t know who the coach will be, although we should find out fairly quickly, but I do know this: Fred Jackson’s place on this team is about as secure as an NHL dentist’s job. The numbers are impressive, especially considering it took awhile for ANY Bills coach to realize Jackson is #1 and Marshawn Lynch a distant #2, but Lynch went over 1,000 yards rushing and in kick return yards, which is an NFL first. It’s never happened before.’
Jackson and Bills roll over Colts
‘Jackson’s big rushing day pushed him up and over 1,000 rushing yards for the season, as he had the first individual 200-yard rushing day since Thurman Thomas had 214 against the Jets in 1990. The Bills feature back finished the season with a career-high 1,057 yards.’
Fewell to interview early this week
‘”I think it says a lot about them and their character,” said Fewell of his players. “They could’ve given up a long time ago and they never did. “I’ve coached seven games with them. We fought and had a chance to win each ball game except the Atlanta game, but they kept fighting until the very end and I think that says a lot about them. They wanted to go out and win a football game. They wanted to have one win to feel good and it does. It feels good to win.”‘
Bills Beat Colts 30-7
‘It looked like old times as the Bills definitely looked more comfortable playing in blizzard like conditions than the opponent from a dome stadium. I know it was the Colts backups but they wanted no part of this game.’
Jackson Powers Bills To Win
‘QB: Grade A: Phenomenal considering the weather conditions.’
Eight Bills out for Sunday
‘Quarterback Trent Edwards and LB Bryan Scott were already declared out for Sunday’s game by interim head coach Perry Fewell earlier in the week. Joining them on the inactive list will be LB Nic Harris (knee), WR Steve Johnson (ankle), S Todd Johnson (hamstring), OT Andre Ramsey (calf), WR Josh Reed (ankle) and OT Jonathan Scott (ankle).’
Sources: Bills, Cowher talk coaching job
‘It is believed that owner Ralph Wilson Jr. joined team president Russ Brandon to gauge Cowher’s potential interest to return to coaching.’
DE Freeney among Colts starters out for finale
‘Freeney, cornerback Jerraud Powers, defensive tackle Antonio Johnson and right tackle Ryan Diem are among the Colts ruled out against Buffalo (5-10) on Sunday. Indianapolis (14-1), the AFC’s top playoff seed, also lists numerous starting lineup changes by sitting out Mathis, linebacker Clint Session, safety Melvin Bullitt and left tackle Charlie Johnson.’
Let’s get down to business, Mr. Nix
‘Despite the fact your fans are screaming for you to get a big name (Cowher, Schottenheimer, Fassel), you are unlikely to land someone like that. After all, Shanahan, Holmgren and Cowher have already said thanks but no thanks. It will pain your loyal support base to hear this, but you are better off getting a strong coordinator.’
Comeback Game anniversary welcomes back two Colts coaches
‘Indianapolis quarterbacks coach Frank Reich and assistant offensive line coach Pete Metzelaars admit it is a bit unique that they return as coaches on the 16th anniversary of a game that typified the resilience of the early 90’s Bills teams that went to four straight Super Bowls.’
Buffalo Bills playing for jobs in finale
‘ Big changes already have begun to take shape in the Buffalo organization with the promotion of Buddy Nix to general manager of football operations, and you can be sure Nix and the coach he hires will, in the coming months, perform a sizeable overhaul of the roster.’
Buffalo Bills: Game Day
‘There have been a number of major disappointments this season, and Lynch’s incredibly lame season is right near the top.’
New coach for Buffalo Bills included in Bob’s 2010 forecast
‘The new coach of the Buffalo Bills will be Mike Martz or Jim Haslett. Perry Fewell will be offered the title of associate coach/defensive coordinator if Martz is the man.’
The Bills’ lost decade
‘You lived it. You suffered. You want to put it to rest.’
