‘The Bills (3-7) bottled up Maurice Jones-Drew, pressured Garrard and managed 300 yards of offense for the first time in two months. But Garrard directed a 68-yard scoring drive when it mattered for the Jaguars (6-4). He managed a similar come-from-behind effort last week against the Jets.’

Bills have more injury concerns after latest loss
‘Running back Marshawn Lynch (shoulder), guard Eric Wood (leg), guard Seth McKinney (knee) and defensive tackle John McCargo (calf) left Sunday’s game and did not return. Wood appears to be the most serious of the group. He broke his left leg on the second play of the fourth quarter and will remain in Jacksonville overnight.’
Bills without CB McGee against Jaguars
‘McGee is inactive because of a knee injury, joining left tackle Demetrius Bell (knee) and three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Marcus Stroud (knee) on the sideline.’
Tenn. Titans’ owner makes nice with Buffalo Bills
‘A full-page ad on the back of Sunday’s Buffalo News says, “We wish the Bills and their fans good luck today and for the remainder of the season.” Adams’ name is printed below.’
Jacksonville 18, Buffalo 15
‘The loss spoiled Terrell Owens’ best game with Buffalo, as he racked up 197 yards and one score on nine catches, including a career-best 98-yard touchdown reception.’
Jaguars Spoil Fewell’s Debut To Top Bills 18-15
‘The Jaguars took a 16-15 lead with :56 seconds to go in the game on a Garrard 3-yard TD pass to Mike Sims-Walker on third and goal. Garrard ran a quarterback keeper up the middle to convert on the 2-point chance to give the Jags a 3-point lead, 18-15. The Bills had one last chance to tie or take the lead, but after a completion to Owens, Fitzpatrick was picked off on fourth-and-ten to seal the Jacksonville win.’
Immediate Reactions, Wk11
‘You know who I blame for the defense wearing down? That 98-yard touchdown pass to Owens. If that was a long drive, the Jaguars would’ve never had the chance to ravage the Bills’ exhausted defense. If I could take that touchdown back, I would! No big plays! They torture your defense! (sarcaaaasssssm)’
Fewell May Make Bills Transition Less Painful
‘The odds are highly against Brandon being able to coax Shanahan to Buffalo, and yet, the very fact Wilson is allowing an open bar in the selection process has to be considered a huge step toward fixing what has been an ongoing problem the past ten years or so. It was comfortable for Wilson to turn to his old friend Marv Levy the last time he needed help, and after being burned by Tom Donahoe, Wilson needed someone he could trust.’
Bills Wilt In Fourth Quarter Again
‘Coaching wasn’t why they lost.’
Bills Lose In Final Minute 18-15
‘Yes the Bills lost the game in the fourth quarter again but it wasn’t a total collapse. They only gave up one touchdown on defense but the offense again just was inept in the final period as they have not scored in three straight games in the final period. There are positives to take out of the loss and not just the fact that they are closer to a higher draft pick. They played with more passion and emotion under interim coach Perry Fewell. They also played tougher despite having another rash of injuries they played hard until the end and this time they had a chance at the end instead of getting run over by a runaway train.’
Jags outlast Bills
‘The Bills defense again appeared to wilt late in the game as they were on the field for better than 36 minutes, but couldn’t get stops on Jacksonville’s final drive, which went for 12 plays and 68 yards.’
Midseason change different from ’86
‘”We didn’t win many games,” said Reed. “There were a lot of different circumstances. We were rebuilding. There were so many things going on and the year before we were 2-14. Of course we were excited we felt it was a new start.”‘
Titans’ Adams buys ad in Buffalo News
‘"We wish the Bills and their fans good luck today and for the remainder of the season," a large white caption in the blue ad says. A photo of Buffalo’s defensive line anchors the page, topped with a Bills team logo.’
Book review: Game Changers, by Marv Levy
‘Those were the days. More to come … some day.’
Bills hope to get off and running with Fewell
‘Lynch is averaging only 42 rushing yards a game, well off his career average of 77 yards a game entering this season. The past three weeks, the Bills have rushed with their backs only 17, 18 and 22 times.’
